I don't know in real life would someone crash a jet into a tank and give his life and btw just waste a 40 billion dollar piece of equipment? I know it's a game but there is playing a game and then there is gaming the game. To me that tactic is the later and if you want to get rid of it seems like an easy fix. Guy has to wait a longer time to spawn or the jet takes a longer time to spawn.
Part of the reason I prefer conquest is that it is impossible to camp all the spawn zones and frankly even if it were the people playing conquest don't seem to do it. I just don't get this I don't recall this crap in BFBC2 of BF:Nam but again I played those mostly on the PC and there seems to be a different type of player on the PC.

We are talking about the same series in which players used to stand on the wings of bombers to travel the map, and helicopters used to tow tanks around the map that would fire from midair? Where the current release has magically healing aircraft and tanks? Where players regularly sprint straight at a tank and throw C4 at it? Or get revived instantly by defibrillators or magically appear out of a teammates' butt?
I guess it's all a matter of having fun without breaking immersion, but kamikaze planes aren't so far out there for me, and actually are more helpful to your team than guys who jump in jets and spend several minutes flying around accomplishing absolutely nothing for your team. Being utterly wild and reckless with vehicles is kind of what this game is all about.

As a doctor I must inform you that these things medically possible - guy came into my office this morning, shot 16 times, vital signs absent, put the defibrilator on him and he was back at work within half an hour. Amazing things.
As for the second point, since there is a large gay population here in Toronto, I can assure you that I have seen a number of things appear out of butts so it is not inconcievable that you could hide a Teal or two in there as well.
I`m fairly certain Bad Company 2 had a longer spawn time if you killed yourself, no? I remember a few times chucking C4 at a tank and detonating it knowing I was within the blast radius and waiting longer to spawn.

I know Teal likes to lurk and silently kill from hiding, but that strikes me as an extreme measure even for him.

Damned "straight!" I ain't a gerbil, for damned sure...
Just finished the Single Player campaign and I don't see what the problem was with it. Nearly every review gave it a terrible mark compared to the multiplayer, but I had a good time during the 5-6 hours it took me to cruise through it. I mean really...it's an add on to the multiplayer, so I had minimal hopes, but it was enjoyable. The ending was kind of meh, but other than that...the story was interesting and fun.
Once again I spent more time playing this game last night than sleeping. Rob, Roguewar, Teal, Diablo and I tangled with some Conquest.. we won a few, lost a few. We also came across a guy who apparently couldn't be killed by a gun. I finally had to stick him with a rocket from 15 feet to kill him.
I honestly feel like a dope. I had no idea that I needed to go into customize on kits to change scopes etc. I just though they were part of the load out. Now I know why I was the only guy with iron sites at level 10.

I like this because I can increase the length of the mouse, adjust the thumb angle and pink and palm rests. After about 20-30 minutes of tweaking and testing the mouse is just set up the way I like it. I have immediate access to all the buttons and the precise aiming button makes using a sniper rifle sweet.
It also has an easily accessible dip switch with 4 settings that works on the fly. The mouse has a 5600 dpi ratio so I have a setting for normal use, one for playing BF3 infantry and another for when on a vehicle turret as with a really high setting I can turn almost 360 degrees on a dime.
The mouse is fully programmable and has a bunch of profiles you can download already. Obviously dropping $100 on a mouse is not for everyone but if you want a decent gaming mouse I like it thus far.

It's weird. I swear I've had the upgrades applied automatically sometimes, but not always. This has confused me, but then much about the front-end of this game does.
The indestructible guy was clearly cheating. He was impervious to all gunfire, which was actually kind funny if he hadn't been sitting on a control point.

Customizing kits and weapons in this game is terrible.
It still pisses me off that between matches we have to wait 30 seconds or whatever and can't do anything but stare at stats, not even apply the upgrades that flashy graphics are telling us we just unlocked.
Then the round loads and you can change stuff, but you don't see the countdown timer if you do. If you select spawn but still have 20 seconds on the countdown timer, you can't reconsider and change anything while waiting.
This system was terrible 2 years ago in Bad Company 2, and they couldn't improve it?
Their interface is god awful. I'm a UX Designer by day so that kind of stuff drives me bonkers. It's not as bad as trying to navigate and use Flickr though...man...
I agree. Not being able to quit out of the post-game lobby also makes no sense.
I also can't recall a major release that was so poorly documented. I shouldn't have to stop what I'm doing to go online and access basic information because the in-disc documentation is so worthless.
The other annoying thing is that you are at a severe disadvantage in flying when trying to gain XP against players who have unlocked additional weapons/gadgets for aircraft. I played a game of Conquest where I decided to give the jets a go and hopefully unlock the flares. But there was a guy with heatseeker missiles who was shooting me down within 30 seconds, and all I could do was try to shake him through maneuvers -- difficult when I'm trying to learn how to fly in the first place. Without flares to start off, I was completely helpless. It seems completely out of whack.

Personally I think the Jets should just be wiped completely from the game, at least from conquest which is all I play. They do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in the way of the objectives other than to pull people out of trying to capture the control points. They serve no purpose. I get pissed when see a couple of jets and an helicopter form my team up in the air. It doesn't take a lot of analysis skills to figure out that you're about to get your ass handed to you.

I don't agree with you but I see where you are coming from.
They provide air cover and they are also easily countered with an engineer leveled up a little bit, a person on your team in a jet to fly CAP or a competent person on the mobile AA. The problem is most idiots use the mobile AA as another tank and take the planes and fly them and crash them into things while jumping out. If your team is not smart enough to use it's planes to counter the enemy air support then you need to find a new team. The transport helicopter can insert a team quickly at far capture points if used correctly as well. The bottom line is mot people don't use these things as they should. It will be interesting to see if the BF servers play style changes this week with MW3 out.
Also you can (at least on the PC) search for and join an infantry only server which will eliminate the vehicles.
