Or Tennessee is horrible. I'll take the 2nd option.

Someone said this earlier, but this season you might seem someone with an 11-5 and not get into the playoffs.

I can't think of a recent season where there were this many truly horrible teams that make average teams like the Broncos look good.

Bills 1-4 - losing to Jets
Browns 1-5
Titans - 0-5 - losing isn't the right word here.
Raiders 1-4 -winning against Phily
Chiefs 1-5
Lions 1-5
Bucs - 0-6
Rams 0-6

Maybe it's always like this but those teams are just bad.

For point differential

Buf -39
Cle -79
Tenn - 55
Oak-81
KC -46
Det -85
Bucs -79
Rams -115

Wow. 8O

Wow is right. I knew they sucked but thats just pitiful. Though the Titans have now made it very close. :P

What the hell has happened to Mark Sanchez all of a sudden? Three INT's in a game, he's played real good for a rookie QB up to this point.

I'm telling you all he hasn't been THAT impressive. The media brainwashes you guys. I said that last week, but everyone seems to think he was so good when his completion percentage wasn't even over 50%. That's a huge indicator. Watch him throw...and watch his reads...he's still raw.

That's the key but that doesn't mean he's not talented, which I still think he is. I think he's got game. 8)

Not everyone db. I was right there with you saying he has a lot to prove. It's not a good sign that his struggles are growing as more film on him is available for defensive coordinators and he also has to overcome playing in adverse weather. I think he might encounter that a couple times per year playing for the Jets.

I knew that 59-0 NE-TEN score sounded familiar. Lets go back in the XXXIV time machine. The day is December 4, 1976. The Falcons visit the Rams......Yeah baby 59-0.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_Los_A ... ams_season

Thats how bad this s*** is getting. To get Ram joy I have to go to the 70's.

Bills win! :P ...I dont know why but it sounds funny saying that.

No disrespect to those of you who are fans, but it brings me no small measure of amusement to see the division almost pathologically referred to by sportswrites as the "toughest in football" go 0-3 today, with two of the losses coming against the Raiders and Chiefs. :)

I hear dat...though it is in our league. :P

I think, sans the Lions, its pretty obvious to me which division is toughest. At least in the NFC anyway. 3 hints along with the Lion one.... its not the west, south or that east you are referencing.

yeah, yeah I saw it the first time you posted it. I probably had jumped on the Boys bandwagon a few years earlier, and my heart was/is primarily beating baseball, so I don't remember that particular game. Amazing that Staubach didn't bring them back with so much time left. I guess losing to the Rams was too much for Roger to bare, so he retired after that loss. :D

Bears could possibly have the worst offensive line in the NFL. Disgusting display tonight. Outplayed, Out physicaled and out coached on every level.

I can't wait for the weekly excuse that the line just needs more time to gel. What by week 8 they won't completely fan on blocks.

Best team in the NFL...with no offensive line. All those teams playing with luxuries like "blocking" and a "running game" are spoiled sissies! Given Orlando Pace's meltdown in the 4th quarter we'd probably be better playing without a line anyway. :)

He didn't have many places to go, but at the same time someone should let Matt Forte know that he can go ahead and break a tackle at some point. He got brought down 1-on-1 by DB's at least 3x tonight.

Worst part is that I don't see the Falcons or the Bears catching their respective division leaders, which makes this game potentially huge in the WC race. Would've been nice to have played this game here instead of travelling there in consecutive years.

Be careful what you wish for. If you want to see what that looks like, just watch a Redskins game. It ain't pretty.

Despite an at worst mediocre defense ("for the 28th straight game, the Redskins allowed 28 or less points, the longest such streak in the NFL, twice as long as the Colts' string of 14" according to Tom Boswell in the Wash. Post), I still propose this team is the NFL's worst right now.

Coming into this game, Kansas City had given up an average of at least 402.8 yards (one thing I read said 468, so I don't know) and 27.6 points per game. They were the worst defensive team in football.

Until today.

Today, the Redskins achieved 265 yards of total offense, were 2 for 14 on third down, and scored 6 points. They had the ball for less than 23 minutes, and threw for only 147 yards. They entered the red area only once, and settled for a field goal. Taking away Portis's 78 yard run that led to that sole red zone appearance (the longest run of his career), they gained 40 yards on the ground. The two quaterbacks had passer ratings of 60.1 (Collins) and 46.1 (Campbell).

And this was against what was, coming into the game, the worst defense in the NFL.

That's what a team with no offensive line can do for you.

In the 'who's that under the bus now?' sweepstakes, it appears Coach Zorn has been shorn of his play calling duties, to be replaced by . . . ? Who knows? Possibly Bingo Caller Extraordinaire Sherman Lewis, who when contacted about the news of Zorn's most recent undercutting by the Snyderrato, responded "I'm just sitting here watching the game film, trying to correct it. I haven't heard anything."

I do think it can get worse. Even with the Titans making a strong case, we are digging deep. With ten games left, who knows what can happen? At some point we will have to play a team that already has a win on its record before facing us. We haven't had to face such a team yet.

If I may pimp myself for a moment, I'm now blogging about the Bears for NFL Blog Blitz, a new, fancy-pants, officially sanctioned NFL blog. I managed to turn my pain over last night's game into:

"Are You There Bears? It's Me, The Running Game."
http://blogblitz.nfl.com/chicago-bears/ ... e_bears_it

Blog Blitz is pretty cool. There's a group of bloggers for each team, so you can get a nice fan perspective on the teams.

As for last night's Chicago debacle, Chicago doesn't have the worst line in the league, but they do possibly have the worst group of run blockers in the league. The pass protection has been pretty good. Granted, the offense is designed to get rid of the ball quickly, so there's no need to hold blocks for long, but Cutler usually has time to find his receivers.

The run blocking, though, is just brutal. No push, no holes, no fire. The goal-line failure was telling: 3rd and 1, and Kreutz and Omiyale couldn't open a hole double-team one tackle, and then on 4th and 1, they run the toss, which is a white flag that you have no confidence in your running game. Ugh.

The thing about Sanchez's interceptions yesterday was that I don't think any of them were tips or bobbles or "unfortunate." They were all VERY poorly thrown balls.

Sanchez is going to need to learn to play in less than picture-perfect postcard SoCal weather, or he'll be in trouble.

Then again, I'm not exactly crowing at the prospect of Ryan Fitzpatrick starting at QB for the Bills. We saw the reason why the guy was a star at Harvard yesterday. He is not an NFL starting quarterback in any way, shape or form.

Lord, my Bills are awful. Hard to believe they're a botched kickoff return away from being tied for the lead of the division. The AFC East really sucks this season because despite yesterday's blowout of Tennessee, New England isn't that good.

Take care,

New England isn't that good
No idea how you can say that. Let's take a peek.

Game 1 of the season with Brady a full year removed from football and he manages a comeback to beat the Bills. Sure, Bills are weak and if your kick returner takes a knee the game is likely over, but if "if's and but's..."

Game 2. Loss to the NYJ in NY against a team who basically made it their Super Bowl and was clearly hyped. Okay, looks like a bad loss, but Jets v. Patriots are typically solid games and Ryan had his D flying. 16-0 wasn't going to happen.

Game 3. A solid win against a VERY good Atlanta team who a week later put up 45 points against a 49'er team with a defense that was one of the best in the league.

Game 4. OT loss to the Broncos (and no, i don't believe the Broncos are going to be 16-0). Outside of playing in one of the toughest visiting stadiums in football against a team that is playing with major confidence, the Pats were playing their former O coordinator who knows their offense like it's his own....actually, it IS his own.

Game 5. Nothing to say, stats speak for themselves. 59-0 in the snow with starters playing only 30 minutes. Tennesse is awful, but let's not take anything away from the Patriots by stating the obvious. If it were 13-10 or something then i would agree it's not impressive, but 59-0 in those conditions? Sorry, that's impressive.

So what we have is a 4-2 team with the losses coming by a combined 10 points in NY and in Denver. I'm not predicting a Super Bowl, but to say this team isn't that good is a bit blinded. And i love you Paul, you know that man, so this is with all due respect!

An interesting note, FYI. Seau was in uniform yesterday. Since he has been a Patriot and on the active roster, the Patriots are 22-0 in regular season games. I say we suit the guy up until he's in the ground!...and then maybe we keep his head in a cryogenics chamber on the sideline next to Teddy Ballgame. Just keep the baseball bats away from it.

That offsides by Pace on fourth-and-1 late was a killer, too. That must have put the nuts of every Bears' fan in a vise.
