Am I missing something here? Is there a different qb rating system in college? I thought a perfect qb rating was 158.3.HipE wrote:I'm not having too much difficulty completing passes either. Nine games into my first season, my qb rating is just a tad under 200.

Good, it's not just me. So if they are different, why are they different?ScoopBrady wrote:Am I missing something here? Is there a different qb rating system in college? Just differences in how they plug in the numbers and also the NFL uses a cap on some values. See http://football.stassen.com/pass-eff/ for an explanation.matthewk wrote:Good, it's not just me. Thanks Zep. I wish EA would publish PDF versions of their manuals online, although I'm pretty sure they did at one point. Even better, they should do what VC did and release enhanced manuals online after a month or so.Zeppo wrote:Jason:Jason wrote:Can the 'Impact Player" feature and composure option be turned off?
The 'Impact Camera Rotation' can be turned off, as well as the HFA and 'Camera Shake.' I don't believe impact players or composure are things that can be turned off.

I just finished my first season tonight. I ended up going 11-0 in the regular season, and I had 10 first team all americans, including the Heisman winner. I got to play in the Rose Bowl against Miami, who was the only other undefeated team. Miami's defense absolutely dominated the game, and I got blown out 34-17. It was actually 34-3 in the 4th before they put the second team in and let me get two garbage td's. My quarterback, who only threw 4 interceptions in the regular season, threw 6 against Miami. I just wasn't prepared for the speed of their defense, it seemed like they had about 15 players on the field at all times.
I think I'm going to start a new dynasty now with a weaker team, maybe a bad team in a good conference. I was thinking about MSU, Kentucky or Vandy in the SEC, or maybe UNC in the ACC. Does anybody know if you have the option to realign conferences at the beginning of each season? I would like to pick a really bad team in a small conference, but I don't want to be stuck in a weak conference once I build the team up.

All you gotta do is change your non-confernece schedule to include some power teams...that'll increase your strength of schedule which will help your overall ranking.HipE wrote:I would like to pick a really bad team in a small conference, but I don't want to be stuck in a weak conference once I build the team up.

I am playing with Kentucky on AA and it is hard as nails. Louisville spanked me the first game. Unless I improve dramatically, then I will be lucky to win 4 or 5 games. Games against FL, TN, GA etc. will be next to impossible to win. In other words, playing with KY or Vandy will certainly give you an excellent challenge on AA IMHO.

Hip, I've tried Vandy in previous NCAA games, and they are probably one of the toughest teams to play a dynasty with because their conference is so tough.HipE wrote:I just finished my first season tonight. Baylor, Duke, Northwestern, and Indiana are also really difficult because of their conferences.

If this question has already been asked, I apologize. I've been playing "play now" games at the default level (varsity) just to get a good feel for the game.
There are times I go back to pass, the computer will automatically pass the ball for me. Many times it's not to the reciever I want to throw. Is there some sort of setting I need to turn off, or is this something that cannot be turned off on Varsity level?
Thanks.

Guys is it just me or are ya'll experiencing this too? On a pass play, I will switch to the receiver that I am throwing to, but right when I hit the "b" button and switch to him he stops running his route throwing off the timing of the play. In previous versions I remember that the reciever kept running his route and you could just hit "y" to make the catch. Is this not possible anymore?

I noticed this in the 'pass skeleton' spring drill, but it doesn't seem to happen in the games or practice. In games or practice its the same as it ever was. I've had no problem on O or D becoming the guy but letting him keep doing his thing until I hit that Y-button, or L-trigger or speed boost or whatever.TheTruth wrote:Guys is it just me or are ya'll experiencing this too? Dan: that CPU passing thing is a similar type deal. You're basically playing 'coach mode' style there, where you call the play but let the CPU run it. To avoid the CPU throwing the ball, you have to take control of him by moving him. I just push on the stick a little to make sure I have control, but sometimes in certain rare situations I'm still too slow. Often on play fakes, the CPU will throw it right away if I don't hold that stick through the p.a. animation.
Thanks for the advice DB, OmflShark and Brando. I think I will most likely pick a weak ACC or SEC team, at least that way I'm almost always going to be playing against top teams in big stadiums. Even if it was challenging to play against bad teams in a small conference, I'm not sure how excited I could get playing in the small stadiums against teams I know nothing about and have no interest in. I'm actually excited to play as a team other than Iowa for once. In the history of the NCAA series, I don't think I have ever played a season or dynasty with any other team. Normally it is fun to use Iowa because they are an average team that is a challenge to recruit and win with. It kind of takes away from the fun of building a program when you start with a top 3 team in the first season. Plus I will now get to see some new teams and stadiums, it is getting kind of stale playing against the same 10 teams over and over each year I buy the game.
Of course, be prepared for me to take back everything I just said after receiving a few beatings with whoever my new team is.

OK, I looked for this in both exhibition and dynasty games, and it's not there. In both caes I get 'Quit' then the yes/no confirmation, and then the game exists. Nothing sims the game to end as far as I can tell.dbdynsty25 wrote:Holy f'n sh*t...that's awesome. Yup, I said the same thing in either this thread or another one...I'm pissed. I had to re-play Miami/Duke...yeah that was fun.matthewk wrote:OK, I looked for this in both exhibition and dynasty games, and it's not there.
