NFL Season 2009

The Jets are a much improved team over last year. Rex Ryan has them going in the right direction and Mark Sanchez is going to be a stud at QB for many years as a Jet.
I gotta disagree with db a bit on Sanchez's performance Monday night. I thought he was stellar and had command of the offense. His mechanics remind me a lot of Brett Favre for some reason, maybe the way he throws the ball etc.
The reason i'm glossing Sanchez is because he's a rookie in his first year and playing in the sports capitol of the world NYC. There's a lot of pressure on Sanchez and if he sucks he'll get booed out of NY much like Richard Todd the heir apparent to Joe Namath.
Sure he missed some passes but damn was he basically solid. He came with a lot of hype and so far he's delivered. If I were a Jets fan I would definitely be happy about my QB position and Head Coach. Monday night Henne was just better than Sanchez in making clutch throws as the game wound down. The rivalry continues with what looks to be two excellent QB's at the helm.
Both QB's are accurate and can unload the pass deep down the field.

Sanchez has looked very good at points this season but I'm not sold on him yet at all. Let's see how he performs when there's enough game film on him for defensive coordinators to sift through. Now that he's played 5 games dc's should start coming up with wrinkles specifically designed for his weaknesses and tendencies. I remember there being a lot of premature hype for a guy named Drew Bledsoe. Last I checked Bledsoe had a decent career but he's no hall of famer. I'm not saying Sanchez won't be good or even great, I'm just saying the media needs to put the bust on hold for now.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Yeah i'm not in the Canton camp wrt Sanchez but to put it perspective, the new kid on the block has been more effective that Brady Quinn, Joey Harrington and insert other rookie QB busts. Yeah he could turn out to have an ok career but so far it's shaping up to be looking solid as of the last five games.
There is some weaknesses in his game especially as to how he holds the ball which makes it susceptible to getting it slap out of his hands or how he locks on to his receivers. Those things can be corrected and i'm willing to cut a rookie QB slack because right now the game is super fast for Sanchez and Chad Henne. A few more years and the game slows down a bit.

Most rookie QBs that start immediately look terrible, even the great ones. Peyton Manning threw 25+ ints his rookie year. Sanchez looks good for a rookie, and I think Matthew Stafford does too. They may very well wind up sucking, but I don't see any Ryan Leaf/Akili Smith warning signs that they will fail as pro QBs.
totally agree. I dont know what more you could expect from him at this point.Rodster wrote:The Jets are a much improved team over last year. Rex Ryan has them going in the right direction and Mark Sanchez is going to be a stud at QB for many years as a Jet.

10-6 at the half.
The Rams have their second (7-6 after 1st) and third(10-6) leads at the end of a quarter this season.
With 10 points scored the first half, the Rams are already 33% ahead of their 6.8 points per game avg on the 2009 season.
Baby steps...Go Lambs !!!
EDIT: How sweet was this for a 13 year old Ram fan? From the 79 divional playoffs. I remember it like it was yesterday. Vin Scully on the call....and no Staubach did not come back

Thanks Jinxy. Why did you post at all?....
Jags win in OT 23-20.
Spags goes for the loss and he gets it.( He thinks its Madden and he has CPU games). Wastes what was for most of the game a very nice defensive effort and a TD from DUI.
The offense scores 13 and the D adds to 7. So now the lambs have 54 points in 6 games. Thats 9 points a game.
You have to keep laughing at these shithead losers cause this same garbage every week, week after week, and now year after year can start getting to you.

Nope, not the Rams - think Zeppo was right the Redskins really are some seriously ripe bag of dog sh*t. I mean wow, wow they are truly terrible. Too bad the fans can't string Snyder up from the nearest light stand.
Best wishes,

So the longest losing streak in the league at 16. (Thats 16! The Rams havent won since October 19th last year) means nothing????dougb wrote:Bills are going to have to pick it up if they want worst team honors!Rodster wrote:34 don't worry i'm not picking the winner in your game.

At least the Rams look like they're trying - Redskins can't even claim that much!XXXIV wrote:So the longest losing streak in the league at 16. (Thats 16! I sent a text to a pal that the K was crapping his pants during the time out. His body language was freaking awful! Moron.
Worst part is that it lets that dwarf who coaches the Vikes off the hook for his pussified playcalling on their last possession.
One of these weeks I'll actually start Ray Rice in my fantasy league. Getting tired of watching him light up my bench!

Saints make me a believer....Wow! Havent seen an O like that since My guys 99-01.
Lions and Bengals looked like the Lions and Bengals.
Chiefs get a their first win. The Bucs dont.
Snow on October 18 in Boston. Football in snow looks very cool in HD.
Warner and the Cards off to a fast start.
Raiders TD took about 20 seconds...at least its a Raider TD.

The Skins have some talent. They are just not good together.
The team I would put ahead of the Rams at 31 is the Bucs. They also lost to the shitbags

If the Skins have talent, would you like to point them out to me? OK, admittedly the Defense isn't horrendously bad. They gave up 4 field goals today, and yet we still lost 14-6. I was sure after the first half that we were set for a 6-3 type game, but that vaunted KC offense was able to score two more field goals
And our Offense did score some points today. Unfortunately it was 2pts for the other guys.
I'm starting to think this is even worse than the Spurrier years. That O line averaged one false start every 5 plays, or thereabouts, so I guess I may be mis-remembering.
But I can't honestly imagine there is an O line unit in the NFL that can possibly be worse than this group at this point. Now we wait for Snyderrato to throw a few coaches under the bus. The problem is, if they fire Zorn, who is going to be willing to coach this mess with those ass hats still in charge at the top?
Note that Spags refused Snyderrato's generous offer to coach this team and took the Rams job instead. What does that tell you? Eh?
4-12 turns out to be far too optimistic. 2-14 is realistic, because only Oakland is a real chance for us to win, but that game is on the road and on the west coast to boot, where we simply do not win. Of course, we might beat the Cowboys at home because that game is in December when they traditionally quit. So 3-13 maybe? They'll find a way to screw up their draft position, for sure. Not that it would matter with Cerrato still in charge.

I should have said better talent than the Rams ( they actually have an NFL wide out) or good enough talent to beat the Bucs and Lambs.

EDIT: Talk about a team giving up...what up Titans? You are now in the mix.
