grats - I don't know if I will keep mine when I get it or not. Passing up 800 bucks for one is the same as paying 800 bucks for one, its 400 less smackers in your pocket.

Exactly. I figured I coud wait it out and when I do find another one it will cost me nothing.I am not dying by not having one.Still having plenty of fun with the xbox.

The only game I feel I am missing out on is call of duty, but not enough to warrant passing ona $400 profit. The guy at target said to checl back again on Friday between 1 and two and they shoud have more again.

Wow -- announcing it over the loudspeaker! That's nuts. The ultimate blue light special!

Take care,

Hey Danimal, glad you got yours. To pk and whoever else is waiting, there will be more to come in the next year. Btw, I'm waiting for a big screen high def set before the 360.

By the time I get one, probably mid- to late summer 2006, they will be as common on electronics retailers' shelves as Campbell's soup in a grocery store!

No worries.

Take care,
PK

I am still on the outside looking in - but right now I am happily playing a few Xbox games. I will get it when I can get it. I am not going to wait in line in the cold or make daily trips to Target. I already have too much to do with Christmas approaching.

By January I imagine that the frenzy might have died down - that is if MS can get things rolling.

COD2 is much much better than Quake 4. I'd exchange that sucker ASAP.

Barnes and Noble are now offering a bundle for 1300 (says it will ship in 24 hours MEANING THEY HAVE THEM). It's the same offer Gamestop had. I guess this is an attempt for Gamestop not to receive some sort of backlash since they obviously are not filling their pre-orders, instead raking in this cash through bundles.

I've got Madden and am up for a game anytime. I will be on tonight, probably after MNF.

Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but here's an interesting story about the 360 launch in Japan. Well, interesting in the sense that it doesn't seem like Microsoft could have done a more ass backward job in releasing this thing:

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6141064.html

"But after hardcore gamers made their purchases, many 360 units remained unsold. For example, the Akihabara branch of Yodobashi Camera promoted the Xbox 360 heavily. It established a dedicated area and cash register for the machine, where many customers stopped to check out a trailer of the 360's forthcoming adventure game Ninety-Nine Nights. However, most visitors walked away without buying a 360. On Sunday evening, one of the busiest shopping times in the weekend, over two dozen Xbox 360s were stacked up behind the 360 cash register and several idle, bored-looking sales assistants."

Who cares about Japan. Honestly, Japan will not make or break the 360. The first line says it all, the 360 sold out quickly in Europe and the US.

MS knows it's a tough sell in Japan. Like I said at OS. If they sold 15% during the Xbox span and sell 25% with the 360 then they've done better. And it looks like MS might win two out of the three regions. Of course they want MS to do well in Japan. But hell if they do well enough the would gain most of th market in the US and Europe.

The only person that cares is Fsquid. Some kid in Tokyo couldn't get paid enough to buy one. Squid can't pay enough to find one. 8O

I just picked up one at Target. Had to fight a few of the employees. Would only sell me one.

Were they in the case or sitting out on the floor?

I checked 2 targets within 10 minutes of opening this morning and nothing.

MS really screwed the U.S. Did they really think they were going to sell out in Japan?

The Japanese game market is very weird. MS should just cut their losses.

There are no compelling launch games for the Japanese market. If DOA 4, FFXI or RE5 was a launch title they would have sold much better.

But unlike here in the USA, japanese people support their own companies (Sony & Nintendo) and you're not gonna do a lot of damage with PGR3 as your main launch title.

Hell I looked at the list today, WTF is coming out in the next 2 months besides CH2K6?

Couple of days ago, you would have worn that gladly to get that close to an Xbox.
