Both AL playoffs games were tightly played. Just admired the way Verlander pitched against the Yankees.

I'm hoping for a WS out of Fox's nightmares: Brewers/Rays

would sign up for that. Also, wouldn't mind a rematch of Tampa Rays vs. Phillies

on an unrelated note, Yankees are dead in the water. Would you want your season to depend on AJ Burnett? He shouldn't have even made the roster. Hector Noesi is the logical selection

I think A.J. is going to pull a rabbit out of his hat and have a surprisingly good-enough outing. Six innings, gives up two runs, leaves with a 5-2 lead.

You could be right. Although, with AJ, it's hard to tell batter by batter what is going to happen next. He could K the first two batters of an inning, give up an infield single, lose his composure/focus and then give up four more runs!

With A.J, if he trusts his pitches he should put a solid effort despite of what strike zone the umps have for him. He starts losing it once he believes that the fellow behind the plate is there to screw him. Got to suck it up, bad calls will happen, guys like C. Lee, and Halladay seem to concentrate very well despite the different strike zone that each ump may have for that day.

If if. Sadly, Burnett doesn't resemble the pitcher he were in Toronto. He is John Lackey

the value of defensive metrics were on display, last night. Granderson's defense (via statistic) have not been impressive this year. Yet, he's been an exceptional, if not extremely capable centerfielder this season. Yesterday, further solidified why this particular statistic is garbage.

Phillies had to be happy Tampa Bay went by the wayside yesterday. IMO, were the largest detriment to a WS title in 2011

Well, Yankees out...now if the Phillies can be ousted tomorrow...it'll be a successful offseason. Hey, if the Braves can't win sh*t...at least my two least favorite teams can be bounced too.

Great match up. Good buddies too from their days in Toronto, I'll give the edge to the Doc.

Can't wait to see the Yankees waste more $$$ next season. 8)

I could be wrong, but I don't see them being too interested in either Fielder of Albert. Their lineup is stacked...

Starting pitching is another issue however - I would be surprised to not see them land either CJ Wilson or Yu Darvish.

I think the new Yankee Stadium is not too kind to pitchers.

Wonder if it will gain a Coors Field reputation and big free agent pitchers stay away.

4 teams remaining and we got a definite midwest flavor going sans Texas. And I really didn't have a whole lot of animosity towards the Rangers until I was reminded that Rangers fan was also Dallas Cowboys fan  Kinda pullin for the Brew Crew since they've never won before(at least as the Brewers).

Same here, my stomach was literally cramping the last two innings. That didn't even happen in '06...

Masterpiece by Carpenter, and he already earned his extension.

Here's to a repeat of 1982!
