I had a 10/9 match last night. I had a tear in my eye.

Does my current 146/102 ratio disqualify me from the DSP platoon?

If you weren't married, it would probably disqualify you from ever getting laid, but we certainly have no problem with it.Naples39 wrote:Does my current 146/102 ratio disqualify me from the DSP platoon?

I know it's Friday night, and the perfect time for a late night shootfest, but I have to crash tonight. I'm butt-dragging something fierce...Diablo25 wrote:I'm in that boat too. I'm 8-16 on the pc version. Better than I usually am I guess. Will be interesting when I get my own copy of the 360 version. That ratio is sure to go down. I suck at shooters with a controller.

Be sure you head over to http://battlelog.battlefield.com and register. Then find your fellow DSP Soldiers and send friend requests.
I find the stat tracking really cool. Unlike BF:BC2, stats appear to be uploaded immediately after each round.

Had a nice time with Rob, Fifa and Naples last night. Wish we could have gotten into a party to BS while we were getting slaughtered. Sorry I wasn't too effective. It was late and I was just about to pack it in when I saw Rob and Naples so I stayed on for a few matches. I'll be back tonight with a full night's sleep!

Re: Battlefield 3
I now realize what my problem has always been with these level up types of games. I go a couple of days without playing because I have a life and when i get back in i am so far down the ladder compared to the people I'm playing against that I get destroyed constanly and it loses some of the fun factor. But I refuse to give up!!

Re: Battlefield 3
So was playing on the PC last night and in the little Origin web browser you can start a party with your friends and it has voice chat which carries over to the game. But get this you can have one person Join the server and take the whole party with them. It then puts all of you in squads together. We had 7 guys it put us in 2 squads.
Why doesn't the 360 version do this? Or does it and did I just miss it the other night?

Re: Battlefield 3
Dan...how are you going about playing on both the 360 and PC? I've got the 360 version finally so I'm pretty sure I can't use the same gamer tag for both but can't really select a new one on the 360. Hmmmm

Re: Battlefield 3
It's confirmed...I'm much better at the PC version. LOL. 8 to 33 kill ratio on the 360 after an hour, and 24 to 38 on the PC. Neither is even acceptable, but I'm less horrible on the PC. LOL.
Re: Battlefield 3
The one thing I've always loved about Bad Company and now this is that your success isn't necessarily measured in KDR. Mine is absolutely horrible, yet I'm always one off the higher scoring players on my team. I'm a support type of guy by nature, it's my comfort zone, and these games reward for that style of play.
I will say scoring could use some balancing. Fastest way I've seen to rack up points is to play CQ and run around neutralizing & capturing flags. I don't even know of a close second to be honest.

Despite a few headaches I think that the browser interface for the PC version is really good for setting up parties/squads and bringing them into games together.Danimal wrote:So was playing on the PC last night and in the little Origin web browser you can start a party with your friends and it has voice chat which carries over to the game. My 'dirty little secret' about the PC version is that because of carpal tunnel I actually play with a gamepad and since there's no aim-assist on the PC (as you'd get in console versions) when I switch to the console version I'm significantly better. On the PC my score per minute is 233, on the 360 it's something like 380 ppm. Like Wilk said, I love that K/D ratio isn't the only marker of success (since I suck).
Re: Battlefield 3
I'll take unbalanced scoring if it means the fastest way to level up is to accomplish the objectives. It sure beats Bad Company 2 where it seemed 3/4ths of my squad were medics running behind me with defib paddles out waiting for the 75 points while I ran to a base.Wilk5280 wrote: I will say scoring could use some balancing. Re: Battlefield 3
I can't argue with that logic. I hated that to no end, which bring to light another great addition in BF3. The ability to decline a revival. Nothing was worse than getting lit up time and time again as some jackass stood there reviving me.

The whole point of this game, and all the BG games, is objective-based. K:D ratio is much more important to me in CoD. If I've repaired vehicles, doled out ammo and health, captured bases in a round of BF, I'm happy. Hell, half the time i have an atrocious K:D but I'm still in the top half of the scoreboard because of the points I rack up doing the support and objective-based tasks.
