Barely. I wouldn't get too excited. Look for some good 'home cooking' calls like PHX got in games 3 & 4. The "home officiating" is def the weakest part of the NBA playoffs that seems to be tolerated yearly...
Wow, really?

Barely? LOL...hilarious. Yeah, I hate how the refs guide the ball into the hoop for the Suns, more than the Lakers in the last two. Those f*ckers!

How bout the Lakers give more than 75%? How do you get absolutely annihilated on the glass? That's just not supposed to happen.

Oh yeah...and good call on the sweep. :)

The Lakers have been here before tho...they usually drop the hammer in game 5...but I'm not sure why they are letting the Suns hang around? It's not the Suns D that's hurting the Lakers, it's their D. For some reason the media thinks the Zone is hurting them...I just don't see it. They are still scoring over 100 a game...just giving up significantly more in the last two. Oh well. Should be fun Thursday and Saturday nights. I'm glad it's a series now at least...I had my doubts after game 1.
Phoenix bench was unbelievable last night. LA's lack of tight "D" is really hurting them. They can't try and outscore the Suns. That won't work.

Just take the 1st half of Game 3: Phx-20 free throws, LA-3.

Last night, Phx 12 fouls, Lakers 23. That's a big difference esp since phx was shooting from the outside all night. My point is you'll see it flip the exact opposite when they head to LA. That's how the NBA rolls ya know. There was nothing surprising about last night.

FYI, 3 out of 4 games in the other current NBA series have been won by the road team. In Orlando, the home team committed 42 fouls and the road team committed 54. Not a huge disparity. In Boston the home team committed 50 fouls and the road team only committed 52. So blaming the foul disparity in Phoenix simply on home cooking doesn't hold up.

Saying last night's result was completely unsurprising after the fact is pretty weak considering your only prediction for this series is "Lakers in 3".

Not to mention it was the Lakers that died by the outside shot. Obviously Phoenix was the agressor and it showed in the box score in multiple areas. More free throws and domination on the boards. It's all about hustle...the Lakers clearly took the last two games off in that regard.

They can't actually win it in 3? I'll throw in some smiley faces or something next time :D :) :o I, among many others, thought it was heading for a sweep after game 2 (I wrote "3" after game 1 I believe). After Lakes lost game 3, losing the 4th game wasn't that shocking - we saw the suns could actual win a game or 2. Geez people. Now, lakers losing game 5 would be a MAJOR shocker. You Phx cats are are not meant to be messed with 8O :D :) :P.

Lakers in 12.

Edit: Celts game: Perkins should be suspended for game 6 as that was his 7th technical. That's huge.

If at least one of those 2 horrible techs are not rescinded it would be a travesty.

Looks like we got a couple series's this round. Better than last round, that's for sure, with the three sweeps and the Cavs debacle.

F*cking gut punch. The goat for LA (Artest) turned into the hero and vice versa for the Suns and Richardson. Holy crap that was a fun game to watch tho. Gotta give the Suns credit for gutting that out...I love this team.

Man, the Lakers have escaped some major bullets on last second putbacks.

Both of them could have eventually saved their season.

Those are hustle play so you gotta give them props.

Second worst loss of my Suns watching career. Only a John Paxon dagger three in the Finals was more emotionally crushing. Get em Saturday...please.

The Suns nearly beat the Lakers in LA. They have to be proud of that effort, but they were extremely lucky to get 3 chanches at that last 3pointer they made. Artest's put back was not luck. Nobody boxed out Artest and he got an easy putback. It's weird how everyone always stands around and watches that "last shot" and forgets there may be a second left for a putback. You see it happen all the time.

I still remember that Paxon three . . . I'm starting to think that game 6 will be close and the Suns might wind up losing on a similar play.

The Suns could wind up pulling out a nail biter in game 6, and then wind up losing game 7 on either a buzzer-beater or it could be a 2 possession loss. Anyway it goes, it just seems like the Suns are never good enough, whatever team they put on the court.

One of the last two games will be a blowout...I just wouldn't even think about predicting who will be the team to advance. The series is a lot more even than anyone really predicted.

I've really never been this pissed a day after a game...usually it wears off that night. Again...this is probably the best team the Suns have had recently and if they come up short, it's going to be rough. This could be their last look at it...especially if Amare leaves this summer. And as much as he is criticized, he's essential to how the Suns run their offense. There's no one in the league like him. So they really just have to sack up and pay the man otherwise they will waste the last two years of Nash's contract.

DB: had asked you back in November, if the Suns were legitimate. Well now we know : )

been a Phoenix fan dating back to 1988 (KJ, Hornacek Thunder Dan, etc). For a while, have noticed the existence of a Chicago Cubs fan and a Phoenix Suns fan run in parallel. Next year will be "the year". Even rosters consisting of 'dream teams' and/or paper champions. Yet for whatever the factors, to win the Title is not intended to happen.

The Stoudemire/Diaw/David Stern/Robert Horry suspension ruling, was the Phoenix Suns fans' "Steve Bartman incident". Finally on the verge, and taken away. To a lesser extent, the Joe Johnson injury was also another bad and ill-timed fate. Although, even with a healthy Joe Johnson the Spurs may not have been derailed that particular year.

go Suns

!!!

Suns were fun to watch. I "called" a sweep, but enjoyed the series regradless. That said, Kobe man...

I've never seen a guy shoot as well as Kobe did for the series. Lebron who?

First I thought there's no way the Celtics beat the Cavs. Then I thought surely there's no way they'll get past Orlando. And now I don't think they have a chance in hell against the Lakers, for whatever that's worth, obviously. :D
