The Fry's Electronics in Burbank, CA made ya. It's the only one I went to so I'm not sure if they were doing that in every store, or just that one.

There was a story in the local paper last week about the Best Buy here forcing bundles on gamers for the 360 launch. They had been advertising a midnight sale for weeks, but there was never anything said about having to buy a bundle in order to get a 360. Then, a couple of hours before the midnight sale, a Best Buy employee went outside and informed everybody in line that they would be required to purchase two games, an extra controller and an additional accessory in order to get a 360, and if they didn't like it they would have to give up their spot in line. At this point, many of the people had been in line for at least twelve hours on a very cold day. The paper contacted Best Buy to find out why they did this, but nobody would talk to them about it.

I would've just gone along with it and then exchanged everything minus the console the next day.

That was nationwide I belive. In fact, I read that Best Buy took back all the extra items they made people purchase and gave them their money back.

Online, you can look at Bust Buy's bundle return policy. Basically, you can bring back the things you don't like and get a refund.

I found this online....in case any of you want to pick up the Fantastic 4 or Dukes of Hazzard DVDs.

It's an internal Best Buy publication. It specifically states no bundles and to not open early.

My Best Buy opens at 10 on Sunday, I will be there at 8. I'll still make church at 11.

So is just Best Buy holding until the 18th? It says on Dec 3rd their next shipment will arrive from Dec 11th.

If other stores are just putting them out when they get them, maybe we'll start to some next week. I find it odd that no one from OS or DSP has been able to get one since launch.

The adds will be out on December 17th so everybody is going to know that they are available again. It's going to be mass chaos again! I'm glad I already bought, sold, and made a profit!

The 17th is a Saturday. I don't think I've ever seen a flyer in Saturday's paper.

You can get the early edition of the Sunday paper on Saturday afternoon. At least in SF anyways. It includes all the same non-news content (e.g book review, entertainment, op-ed) and advertising filler.

In St. Louis I've gotten the Sunday adds on Saturday night for as long as I can remember. That bestbuy add will be in my driveway Saturday night the 17th by 5:00pm.

A biased statement of course but maybe N/A gamers should go to the land of the rising sun for the 360 :)

If I hadn't already gotten lucky (thanks Paul!) I would be all over this, figuring I could trade in the games I didn't want, and maybe even the extra controller(s) and battery/charge kits for full value at the local store. Or maybe a Walmart. Ships on Monday. I wonder if that means there will be untis on shelves in some stores on Monday or Tueday. . .

I don't know if it's a sign that they're starting to flow in or not but Circuit City also had bundles available this morning. I happened to luck upon a post at www.teamxbox.com and managed to snag one before they sold out a couple minutes later. It was a much smaller bundle at around $689 or something but I was even able to remove the games and memory card and ordered just a premium system, extra controller, and play & charge kit. I got overnight delivery so if they were really in stock I should have it tomorrow. I would have posted it here but they sold out right after I ordered mine.

Congrats! ZXLT wasn't able to get one into his cart before the "Out of Stock" message appeared.

Thanks. I called fshguy's cell while I was ordering mine and he managed to get one in his shopping cart. But then he tried to remove the extra controller which caused the system to be removed from the cart as well. When he went back to add the bundle back in they were sold out. Doh!

I told her not to, but Mrs. Claus saw this today and may be ordering it just to SMTFU.

Will local stores really take the games and controllers back for full credit? I'll probably keep 3 of the games and sell or trade the other 4. I'd love to trade NFS for PGR if some store would let me do it.
