Oh well, i guess if that is true it should start showing up on most major sites in the form of a news item tomorrow. Sucks though

Networks don't typically put up big news items on their own website advertising that they just cancelled their show.... basically highlighting their failure. Sorta like when CBS canned "Threshold" around Thanksgiving time... they didn't make a big announcement, they just let is die silently.

There are plenty of links around from media insiders previewing the official cancellation though:

http://www.mediaweek.com/mw/newsletters ... /index.jsp
-In and Out at ABC:
ABC, which will officially announce its fall 2006 schedule tomorrow, has renewed sitcoms According To Jim and George and recently introduced drama What About Brian, while officially axing freshman occupants Freddie and Invasion. Also not expected back at ABC are comedies Less Than Perfect, Rodney and Sons & Daughters. The jury is still out, meanwhile, on Hope & Faith.

Yeah, there were a number of sources reporting it before I commented.

Sorry, Danimal, I wish I was mistaken.

Well fark, if Invasion doesn't gvet a chance at a second season after tonights final episode I think I may give up on watching TV shows forever. Plus why did AB promote the Season Finale o Invasion if its not coming back.

Back to the thread's original title :) Man, I can't wait for next week finale of LOST. Sounds like some answers may be coming. Sayid is as sharp as a tack! "Jack, I think Michael may be compromised." Perceptive bastard! That, and he reads his lines well :). Why do the Others want Jack, Hugo, Kate and Sawyer? Bring on the finale!

Oh, and I hope you guys get another season of Invasion.

There were no flashbacks in this ep. All it did was show what happened to Michael while he was off by himself.

They probably wrote it up as they went along but it was well done.

I guess they want to build up momentum for the finale so they decided the back stories would be a distraction.

See how that works?

Even though we basically knew what happened to Michael before the episode (being forced to free Henry and lead key Losties into a trap in order to get Walt back), I'm glad they went back and showed it as it gave us a view of the "Others" side of the island, and confirmed that Walt was still alive.

Just got around watching the last episode.

Damn. Walt as grown up.

What do you guys think of the boat at the end?

Didn't Michael ask for a boat from the "Others" when he agreed to bring the 4 they asked for?

Is that what he said?

I kept rewinding(have it on my PSP) when he said he wanted something but I really couldn't understand it.

He said i want the boat, which i assume meant he wanted the boat they had when they took Walt back in Season 1.

Exactly, I keep having to explain this to the OSers, that boat he asked for is not the boat you saw at the end of the episode. That boat at the end was Desmonds I believe.

Two different boats.

Yes you are right Danimal, I believe Michael was reffering to the boat they took Walt on. He wants to leave the island with his son.

I thought he asked for "a" boat, not "the" boat.

It's only suppose to have been a couple of weeks since Walt was kidnapped.

The kid is obviously going to grow up a lot in real life even if he's suppose to be only a few weeks or months older during the life of the show.

Forget the boat, Michael killed people just because the Others threatened to keep him from Walt unless he freed Henry and got the 4 people they wanted.

Nobody is suspicious of Michael that he wants to go to war with just 5 people and one of those 5 is Hurley rather than Sayid.

Why should I forget the boat? Maybe he wants off the island once he completes the deal. Just a thought.

Hmm, wco81 is making strange demands. I think he's been compromised. :)

Sayid is.

He told Jack that he thought Michael was compromised.

Call me a cynic, but I think the reason that they keep going back and reviewing is that they simply don't have enough material to fill a 43 minute episode. Think about how much stuff we've seen in recent episodes that we've already seen before. I love the show, but I'm starting to feel like they are dragging it out because they know it gets ratings.

I heard the producer on Stern a few weeks ago and he even admitted that they are pretty much making it up as they go along.

Thought that was an awesome finale, I'm sure wco and some others will be in here soon ragging on the show. I lost about 10 minutes in the middle of the show due to the very bad weather here tonight.

I don't want to post anything yet that would spoil the eipisode for people. But tomorrow we have to talk about some of this s***.

I just don't get this show anymore. Nobody acts like actual people you would ever meet or know. Even in a fantastical situation their actions seem implausible. Finale was decent I guess as it actually answered some questions but then I'm sort of past the point of caring now. Too bad as I really liked it when it started. I think I've finally kicked the week to week habit at least. No way I could tolerate another season of that. Decent show to catch on DVD I suppose where I can just directly watch the next episode without the slowness and flashbacks annoying me.

Actually on vacation. When I get back and catch the finale (along with a bunch of other things on my Tivo), I will come and rag on it. I thought I was pretty positive about the last episode at least the way it was plotted showing what happened to Michael while he was with the Others. Just that the other survivors weren't questioning him enough.

BTW, I caught a bit of the S1 finale in Italian. Funny, when the Koreans speak, they have subtitles. But they dubbed the English dialogue into Italian.

Before going any further, I'd suggest that anyone that hasn't seen the finale stop reading this thread until they have. I'm not going to give any more warnings.

Now then, I liked the last episode, even thoughI missed bits and pieces due to the kids. In one way I'm happy that they seemd to be revealing a lot of things all in a single episode, but on the other hand they raised many more questions. It's getting to be like the X-files, where nothing is truly revealed, just bits and pieces that lead to more questions.

One thing that bothered me was the reaction by Charlie and the others (not THOSE others) when he made it back to the camp. Where is Ecko and Locke? Hm, they didn't make it back yet? Oh well, back to our lives, no need to worry about them or anything.

The four toed statue and the very end threw a few more curveballs at us. Just when they give us enough pieces to where we think we know what's going on....

I just hope they don't forget about some of the earlier mysteries, like the black cloud monster thingy.
