Mets have it worse.
They will not be in 1st place after their road trip is over. The bullpen has fallen completly. I think it's gonna be a ugly september for them.
Is the NY crowd falling out of love with C. Delgado?
I don't know. It one's of those cases that the Mets hope that he's just having a off year directly related to the operation he had before spring training and the subsequent nagging injuries he's had over the course of the season.
I'm pretty sure he'd be on his way out of the door next year if he keeps struggling.
They win em when it counts...that's for sure. If they beat Smoltz tomorrow...more power to em. Beat the two horses...they will have definitely earned it.
Philly is playing over their head...they will falter.

Well despite Wagner, Mets complete the sweep.
I don't remember a time where the Mets swept a series at Atlanta 2 years in a row.
I'll be rooting for the Braves the next 3 days vs the Phillies.
Went to the Braves /Mets Saturday and was extremely disappointed. Haven't seen a more boring game in a long time Braves are playing like they dont want the division. I just dont get it. They seem to have more offensive talent than the Mets or Phils but aren't showing it on the field. The weakness of the starting pitching is also starting to show more and more. Another year of missing the playoffs for Atlanta. They are pretty much done at this point.

Despite his short tenure in the majors, I gotta think NL Comeback player of the year.
AL Comeback player of the year as far as I'm concerned, hands down has got to be Carlos Pena of the Devil Rays...37 HR and 105 Rbi's. Pretty much going unnoticed.
On an unrelated note, quietly, the Indians are playing superb baseball, and go into LA,to face the Angels,(another team doing real well)in a possible preview to the playoffs. Good test to see where the Tribe is at. The Indians have beaten Johan Santana 5 times this season.
I love September...particularly when the Indians are in the thick of it
EDIT: I do think the time of the story is very interesting. Supposedly more names are going to surface. When? The next time a well known ball player goes on a big hitting streak. Is Rick taking HGH now? Supposedbly, he stopped taking it sometime in 2004-2005. Is there even a way to test for HGH?

Yeah, what a crazy year the Tribe's having. I know alot of people picked them to do well before the season started, but if you would have said back in March that Lee and Sowers would spend most of the year in Buffalo, Barfield would be a bust, Hafner would only hit .260, and, oh yeah, they're gonna be six games up in September, I would have said you're nuts!

He needs to have a news conference ASAP.
man....
that sucks. great story...and if he took it...f him.
I agree Sudz. Hopefully, he'll come out and admit it first. Then, maybe say something about how he used it knowingly to rehab from elbow surgery. Then stopped after he found it was being banned by MLB. By not commenting will create a bigger stir.
I don't care if he did take it. I mean really who gives a s***. I could take a bath in HGH and not be able to touch a 90mph fastball. The kid is a great story. And he has talent. Period.
I'll bet my left nut that at the very least 60% of MLB players on all levels have used the stuff before it was banned. And I'll bet my right one that there is still 30 to 40% still using the stuff today. If anyone is to blame it's Bud.
MLB does not test for HGH, because there is no reliable test for HGH. Cheaters can continue to cheat, undeterred. But clean players who want to clear their names … Well, they can’t. There’s no test.
I hope the guy has a great career. HGH induced or not.

Personally I think those numbers are higher even, with the escalating salary numbers and people getting caught left and right, yes Bud must act tougher or just quit, before the whole credibility in the sport is gone.

yeah...but for him to just do it on talent alone...is a great story...
