I missed the game, but it probably was Roger Valdivieso. He's good, but Bretos and Bozzo were better.
I think FSC has pushed Bozzo back to Fox Sports Espanol, and Bretos does very few Argentine games anymore. He'll probably do the Superclassico, and that's it.
Another reason why I think FSC is sliding downhill!
Take care,
PK

I prefer the tandem team of Bretos and Bozzo, man when was the last time these two worked together? PK, your gallinas are going down one more time, R. Lavolpe (former Mexican coach) is the new coach and we are still in the lead with a game in hand. Vamos Boca!pk500 wrote:P.S.: Superclassico is this Sunday on FSC. River-Boca, Boca-River!

It doesn't matter, Squid. Newcastle isn't going to win anything with only two fit strikers and a back four that makes Sunday League defending look solid.
Sad, but true.
Take care,
PK

I'll always remember the one where he was caught off his line, and in his desperate scramble to get back on a lob shot, the shot went off the crossbar, off his face, and in. That is tough to top....10spro wrote:One of the stars for the National French team in 98 retires: F. Barthez.
Never a dull moment watching him play, either he had the most amazing save, or the most ridicoulus blunder.

SPOILERS***
Scotland beat France 1-0. I'd love to be with the Tartan Army tonight - the amount of whiskey consumed will be absolutely astounding (though it would probably be the same if they'd lost to France)
And England seem to be back to rubbish again as they draw 0-0 at home to Macedonia. Who'd have thought that England would struggle while Scotland is flying high. If it was a movie it'd have to be a Mel Gibson movie.
Best wishes,
Doug

Did Israel win? No way that would happen in a Mel Gibson movie.dougb wrote:If it was a movie it'd have to be a Mel Gibson movie.

Hell, after I heard the result I checked my End Times schedule - and with North Korea detonating a nuke I'm getting mighty nervous. Heard that it had started to snow in hell as well...
Best wishes,

Yeah, he's the same guy that has been calling all the games in the Argentinian league (maybe PK knows his name) but I do miss Bretos. Another thing that bothered me yesterday other than the loss

It was ok to watch. I think the casual fan would have turned it off after 5 guys were "injured" in the first 10 minutes. Luckily, I fast forwarded through that on my TIVO!10spro wrote:fsquid wrote:Ok, the announcer for the River-Boca game was horrible. I'm in that camp now. Another thing that bothered me yesterday other than the lossis his constant calling for M. Gallardo who was on the bench. The only thing he got going is the GOOOOOL! It was a good Superclasico to watch, especially if you're a River fan.

The 'renaissance' of the 3-5-2 formation can be traced back to that slimy buffoon Venables, whose ill-defined position in the hierachy allows him to almost escape censure. It would appear obvious to anyone over 6 that changing formations in mid-campaign without testing it in a friendly, and moreover changing it to one that none of the players use in domestic football, would not be a precursor to good things.10spro wrote:Ugh, things are not looking sharp for England, a tie last week with Macedonia and a 2-0 loss to Croatia. Of course Croatia is no slouch but Robinson can't mishit a ball like that. Whether McClaren wants him or not, I think Beckham would be good for the team.
Now that England have dropped as many points in 4 qualifying games under Mclaren as they did in 3 full qualifying campaigns under Sven, maybe the more sober journalists will be rethinking their tack of 'blame the Swede for everything that ever went wrong', forgetting as they do that McLaren was no 2 for most of it.
Mmm, and I bet the Drunken Scot feels good about paying £18m for Michael Carrick now. Let's go through the 'holding midfielder' job description again....
Tackle and break up attacks...err, no
Pass a ball to teammate....no
Retain possession and utilise effectively....mmm, nope
It can't be often that someone costs that much and then is described in the press as the 'poor man's Owen Hargreaves'.

Yes, the announcer is Roger Valdivieso, who has taken over for Bretos in calling FSC's Argentine coverage. Valdivieso isn't bad -- better than the horrible Christian Miles -- but he's no Max.10spro wrote:fsquid wrote:Ok, the announcer for the River-Boca game was horrible. I'm in that camp now. Roger does have a fetish for the older players, such as Gallardo and Barros Schelotto.
Great win for River. They didn't have a ton of chances, but they finished. Great action in the last 10 minutes of the first half and for a decent chunk of the second.
Gago is a hell of a player for Boca, though. He'll look damn good in La Liga very soon.
RIVER!
Take care,
PK

Unless the penalties that their u-21s are going to get collared with are widened, of course.

not if you'd seen the footage, you wouldn't. And there is plenty of previous from this season.
