That was good times last night fellas. I was only there for a while because of the Braves game, but it was good times none the less.

I just can't catch Slimer or Web when you guys don't screw up...and I usually think I'm running a good line too. Obviously I need to practice more.

I have finished the single player game, so by the time you have done that youu have raced some of those courses a million times, like Road America, Surfer's, and Bathurst. Those are the courses I usually do good on. We raced a few last night that I had never been on and some cars I had never driven ( the Seat's ), and I really butchered the course. Although it was a lot of fun trying to work through traffic after I ran off the course about a million times.

I use advice from PK. I rev the engine to the redline and hold it there until the start, then I try to only let the revs drop to two tics below redline and then start adding throttle until I am at full throttle. How fast I add throttle depends on the car. Formula Fords, I am usually pretty slow adding throttle. If I feel my wheels slipping, I back off slightly until I gain traction again.

Again, all of these tips are from PK and others who have helped me in the past.

What I do is don't worry about RPMs, but rather worry about the throttle indicator underneath the tach.

I try to keep that throttle indicator about 1/2 way when the light goes, and then ease it up (squeeze it up?) at a rate depending on the vehicle and racting to slippage.

But I think the throttle amount is much more important than the RPMs. These Xbox triggers are just awesome for throttle control, and the indicator helps.

Web add me to the Sunday driver list...I can host 7 and usually start by 10 on any night. Sorry I couldn't get you into our game last night, it sounds like you were able to host a good game.

Yeah, I think we leave it up to the group to police themselves on driver ratings. Its basically for those neeeding a place to learn without the fear of screwing up fast guys races. Not that we still won't do that from time to time, but the basic idea being that it is a place where a rookie can be to learn.

I'm not a great driver (ok I suck), but I thought I had been improving. Actually lucked into a race win a couple nights ago with some of the big boys at Texas with the stock cars. Had a couple podium finishes as well. I had moved my driver rating up to about 1450 going into last nights racing. Well after last night I had dropped over 60 points to under 1390. So its not necessarily a cake walk series to boost ratings, in fact I think it could work the opposite.

What was really good is like web said, I rarely was completely alone on the track. There was always someone to be pushing or to be holding off. I understand the argument that you will not improve against top competition without competing against them, but before last night I had been in many races where I was completely alone after the first lap and basically hotlapping. Well what I do is probably not considered hotlapping, but you know what I mean.

So what is the cutoff rating to be in the Sunday group? My rating is 1683 and has been up to 1736. I try to race as clean as possible, yet I still make mistakes from time to time.

I finally got my DSL installed last night (but had hoops so I couldn't jump on), so I'd like to get in on on any racing you are doing. Probably be on tonight later on and some tomorrow night as well.

I'll be like Rick Mears on a road course though--my throttle finger is severely jammed--so that's my built-in excuse!
