Love it love it love it!!!! Take this with a grain of salt. I am not a hardcore soccer fan in the least, but this game is just a joy to play. I'm hoping there will be a deal for NHL 13 and Fifa 13 within the next week or two.

Presentation (commentary is stellar once again), graphics, gameplay...very impressed.

Game on!!!

Demo is kick ass. I love that the cpu now plays defense when you're in the box. I also like those mini games while the game is loading your match up.

Only thing that was different was the ball seems a little too fast on the passes.

Yeah, those mini games are great. I can see myself spending quite a bit of time honing my skills, or lack thereof.

I played against my son last night on intermediate, and I suppose I need to lower the skill level to beginnner as he was getting pick pocketed every time he got possession of the ball. I could tell he was getting frustrated.

Believe it or not, I did see the CPU pass the ball back on a couple ocassions. It's still not a sim, but I'm not necessarily looking for that in a soccer game. I guess I like PES to Top Spin 4, and Fifa 13 a little bit to Grand Slam Tennis, but that's not really a fair comparison.

Good times with this game!

I enjoyed the demo. Still haven't touch the mini games but it sounds like a lot of fun. The CPU is miles better than in 12, the action may still be very much north and south with every single team but the AI has been improved. Yes, I wished there was more middle field battles and specific strategies from different teams but it's nice to actually see the opposition making pass errors because of the 1st touch, in fact games seemed more varied than previous years. Now, does it seem some like leaps of improvement over 12, of course not but with some slide adjustments (something that I usually don't want to mess with) and the game on slow, there may be something there that will satisfy footy players.

I literally cannot tell the difference between this and '12. Hmmm...guess it's PES for me this year, for changes sake.

Thats understandable db, its extreeemly subtle in differences. Some new animations are superb, l like the first touch.

Gameplay is way too fast, and i still hate the way the players move with the ball, meaning back and forth twisting and turning , all at hyper speed when no one is on them, running with the ball instead of just passing it.

Single player will be a chore as usual i feel, ill be interested to see how it plays online for clubs , i have a feeling its going to be a hundred miles an Hour again with the game speed and slightly and i do mean slightly better defending.

As s*** as defending was last year at least online it gave you time to play if you wanted.

You got to play this demo while tinkering with sliders. After the private hockey games last night, I started messing with some sliders at different difficulties and it makes a difference. In fact, the best game I had was on Legendary, where I had passes drop down all the way to 40, including the CPU errors maxed out and finally saw more incomplete passes from them. Also lowered the acceleration quite a bit on both sides including speed to around 42 and the game played much slower than the default settings. The CPU managed to have 48% ball possession while out shooting me 6-2.

In a squeaker, C. Tevez managed to score in the 90' minute as I beat Arsenal 1-0. The game was played on slow but I agree that EA should tone down the gameplay speed overall because the online club matches are going to be an arcade fest.

Try the sliders.

I know why EA doesn't do it, but it's a shame the manual passing settings aren't the defaults, as they do so much to show off the quality of the game engine. I just played several games of the demo with all manual, and the gameplay was sublime. Managed about 53% possession with Dortmund vs Juventus in a 2-1 loss, only 49% with Arsenal vs Milan in a 3-0 defeat, and 51% with Man City against Milan in a 1-1 draw.

I'm jacked up to get this game on Tuesday. But will be interested in your early release impressions.

Diablo - I think you'll like it. It's a perfect game for someone new to soccer gaming and likes to play a casual game of soccer.

Like what I see so far. Quite a bit slower than the demo. Presentation is top notch and graphics are stunning. I'm seeing some variances between teams. Not a soccer officianado but plays a very enjoyable game. Can't wait to play some more tonight.

Plays quite a bit better than the demo.

The "Skills Games" are highly addicting, alebeit a little frustrating. The nice thing is that you can change players to fit the specific training. It's quite a challenge trying to beat your high score and leveling up.

Really impressed with the game. Looking forward to playing it the rest of the weekend and seeing if it continues to impress. Right now, I could see purchasing both games. Although this game has so much life to it and the atmosphere and presentation is outstanding. The game play is so easy to pick up and play but difficult to master.

I was playing against my son and we tied going to the end of regulation. I had a perfect through ball to my right winger and it was daylight in front. He proceeded to cramp up and lose possession of the ball. Eventually, I replaced him because he had pulled a hamstring! Pretty cool.

This is also coming out for iOS, with online play for the first time on their mobile EA Sports games.

I haven't tried their previous games but the Vita version had some potentially interesting use of touch gestures, like passing ahead more accurately.

Playing the early season pass version of the game, I still think Fifa plays a bit too quick for my own preferences and lets it face it, it's the path that EA is content in bringing an almost arcade style to the game that will satisfy a lot. When comparing the likes of player individuality, how teams play, the AI, and the pace of the game, PES comes out on top for me in the realism department.

The skill games are fun indeed but some of the dribbling are just impossible to accomplish as your player can't seem to adjust to the tight corners on time. But it's damn addicting.

There are a lot of modes to make people salivate here, I just started my Pro career, there's seasons, EAS challenges, and of course OTP and tournaments galore in FUT. in my opinion EA just does the cosmetics aspects of the game better than Konami, presentation, the flashy modes, licenses.

But when it comes to tactical, positional play PES does so many things right. Still, when it comes to shooting even though PES has improved, I prefer the Fifa model when it comes to power, placement and finesse shots.

This game needs to be played on manual all the way and after having played a dozen games already on FUT mode, the improvements are subtle, the AI slightly better and if you haven't played 12, this years' version won't disappoint those fencers.

Nicely said, and my only real concern. I played the hell out of FIFA 12, and while I know I'll enjoy 13, I do worry that it will feel samey. In contrast, PES has a fresh feel to it, while still very firmly being in the WE line.

Forgot about the early release for this game and finally got it downloaded this morning. Played two EPL games and couldn't be happier. Game seems to play much better than the demo. This is a good fun soccer game here and it looks amazing and has great atmosphere. I've played PES the last few years and haven't bought a FIFA game in several years so this is a nice change of pace. Definitely picking this one up on Tuesday.

The more I play this game, the more I enjoy it. I really like how they implemented the physics and interaction between players...that's one area that PES cannot compete, there just seems to be a more weighty feel to the collisions. Saw one cross the other day where the goalie came out to punch it away and landed on top of the defender and striker, it was awesome.

Ultimately, I'll probably end up with both games because they are both fantastic. PES on the computer is always a good time and it's much improved this year as well. From the demos, I would have told you I'd only be going with PES, but this early release has sold me. Score one for EA Sports...their demo wasn't all that great, but the full version has sold them another copy.
