I never called a winner in fact I think I mentioned the Nucks would probably win 1-0.

I cannot wait to play this with the new Microsoft Racing wheel. The new wheel and this game looks sick.

I know GT5 is not popular around these parts but I am still playing it regularly and doing every seasonal that comes out due to the fact that the physics is very good for a console game. Forza 4 looks like it will have an insane amount of content and be a massive game, but I'm not sure I want to trudge through it unless core areas have been upgraded. I know I will probably buy it and give it a shot simply because it's Forza and I have liked the series immensely, but how long I stick with it this time is up in the air.
Toon, Turn 10 has changed things up quite a bit. You may like. Eurogamer had a write up this morning on Forza 4, check it out. They actually liked the changes.

Forza Motorsport 4 - Preview
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011- ... -4-preview

"Stepping up to actually play the game, it's also easy to be a little complacent. Forza's handling has veered from the dry simulation of the second game to the more pliable cars of 3, but the one constant has been its forgiving nature. Within seconds it's clear that Forza has changed dramatically.

Switch off all the assists and engage Forza 4's all-new simulation handling mode and it's a strange and quite terrifying experience, a single lap of the fictional Alpine circuit seeing a Ferrari 599 spitting us into the scenery at every opportunity. The front engine, rear-wheel drive car lazily lunges into corners with heavy understeer before, just as it kisses the apex, snapping into aggressive oversteer that sends the rear flailing. After the relative stability of Forza 3's cars, it's a shock to find these cars so alive and so wild.

Turn 10's John Knowles smiles as we recount this experience to him later, going on to explain how the more involved handling has come about through the expansion of the existing partnership with tyre manufacturer Pirelli. "We've taken all their physical data and all their tyre deformation data and we've matched it against everything that we were doing," he says."
Yeah that's encouraging. Hopefully it's not a bunch of hot air. I would have to join the Turn 10 fan club if they can nail the physics and handling in addition to putting out a game that looks to have an insane amount of content. I will happily put in 150+ hours with yet another Forza game if the boys truly have upgraded the physics.

So that's what, 4-5 hours of download time on slow-ass PSN? ;)

I am psyched about Forza 4, loved 3.

It wasn't too bad actually, everything downloaded in about an hour due to MY slow-ass connection. :)

Yeah i'm also looking forward to Forza 4 but I won't bite until it goes Platinum Hits because MS always includes ALL DLC in the Forza versions. I'm not buying something I can get for free.

A little bit of information on some of the game modes inspired by the Top Gear licencing deal. If I remember correctly, the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car section is edited out of the BBC America broadcasts, so you might not fully appreciate why the Forza 4 car us Brits are most excited about is a Kia Cee'd (sorry: a Kia Cee-apostrophe-d), but you may get some mileage out of these:

I'm not sure the car in the video is the best one for showing off that mode - rear-wheel drive and plenty of power would seem like the way forward to me - but it looks like an entertaining diversion. Car football should be great fun too.

Car bowling, of a sort, has featured in the Top Gear Live theatre show, while car football has made two separate TV appearances. Click on these words here for video of the real-world efforts.

We get that segment over here. Don't know who half the guests are, but we get them. And even now and then you all throw in the token American.

Probably the biggest disappointment for many with GT5 was the lack of a standing start in the Top Gear track. FM4 looks like it will cure that ill.

Ah, good. I couldn't recall seeing any of that segment on BBC America in times past, but I haven't had any extended stays in your fair country for something around 3 years now so time has probably dulled that particular memory.

Polyphony didn't really get it, unfortunately. It was as if someone had acquired the licence on their behalf, given them a quick overview along the lines of "It's a show about cars and you're putting their test track in the game, if that's alright" and then left them alone. The way around the standing starts is to gauge roughly where the start/finish line is (it doesn't correspond with the lines on the track, for reasons someone might explain to us one day), then pull up just short of that point at the end of a lap and go from there. Even then, the track feels a bit off and the lap times are all out of whack...

Dammit, I tried the demo, and even though it was far from spectacular and didn't engage the Kinnect head tracking functionality, it was still pretty fun and now I feel the irresistible urge to get this game next week. I don't have time for all these games I want to play! There's just something not Forza about having 12 cars on track, and that's a good thing. I admit I put almost zero time into the previous one, so maybe I'm just ready for this one, but dammit F1 should be enough to feed my racing jones. Arrrgh!

I'm with ya Zeppo...definitely like the way the demo plays and I was not all that excited for the game until I played it and wow...excited now. Lol. Another 60 gone.

Nothing really was jumping out at me in the Demo, but then I did that Zonda Challenge trying to chase down Adam's ghost and not getting a "penalty" and I ended up playing it for a couple hours. I was also not planning to pick up Forza 4 as I barely played Forza 3, but now I am trying to hunt down the collectors edition. They have some new "season pass" option as well, where if you pay an additional $29.99 it gives you the 6 monthly 10 car packs that will be released each month starting in Nov - April 2012. Makes for an expensive game unless you wait a couple years to get the compilation like Rodster. ;)

Nah give it 12 months and the Platinum Hits version will be out with all the DLC included.

I can wait. :)

Maybe we should just set-up the Rodster DSP $60 game pass. You give Rod $60 a year and you get every single game released that year, only 8-12 months late. :)

Monkey see. Monkey do. I read this and spent the last hour trying to chase him down. With my ability its like chasing the dragon. It is not going to happen.
Fun trying none the less.
Once I got used to it, the car handled pretty well with all the assists except the auto trans off. Dont know if it will be there with the lesser cars or if I was imagining it but I did get the sense of speed that seemed a bit missing in the last game.

Now's a bad time to mention that I'm not especially good at the Zonda challenge, right? Took 3 seconds off my time just now and I'm still outside the top 5000 in the world. The Ferrari challenge is the only one I've really got on top of so far, probably because I got sucked in by the choice of car. I love love love the noise that 458 Italia makes, though the Zonda's engine note is a beauty too.

I'm enjoying this very much. I had to think very hard, in fact, to come up with something to complain about. Here's that something: even with all aids turned off except the clutch, I feel like the game is steering the car for me a little more than I'd like during slides, but it's not too intrusive and I could always stop sliding and start driving properly instead. Everything else seems spot on. It sounds odd, but I didn't appreciate how much I was enjoying myself until I realised I'd been playing the demo for 2 hours solid, turned the 360 off for 20 minutes and then came straight back to it.
