We are now at the point where almost all the details have been either released or leaked, so I probably can't say anything most of you don't already know.
I wish it was released earlier, because EURO 08 will come out two weeks later and I will have to make choices and sacrifices. And no, it's not a good problem to have, it's very nerve-racking.
Those are the sites, I feel have the most info about the game.
Is it true you did the voice overs for Niko's character?
I have my final (final) licensing exam on May 2nd & 3rd so it's going to take all my willpower not to open this baby up when I get it.

The really funny thing is, they still make fun of your accent more than mine.
Sorry about the exam. It is, truly, more pressure than any man should ever be subjected to. You probably shouldn't buy it at all until after. Because in case you cave in, you will develope a whole new outlook on anatomy by May 2nd. You know, Rockstar style.
Holy S@#% i was just reading up on this game and i might just go run out and pre order. I have always been a fan but not anal about playing... but i have to say all those modes this might be in my hands release day.

Saint's Row did quite a few things better than GTA did. I expect GTAIV will blow the doors off the genre though. We'll see soon enough. IGN had a hands-on write-up on the multiplayer today as well and it sounds great.

Is there going to be some kind of hand-to-hand combat moves in multiplayer?
Some of the online modes start you out without vehicles and you have to get them.
It sounds like it's kind of like ghost-jacking someone in Halo 3. It's gonna be awesome IF (and only IF) the online lag is kept in check. Full traffic, smog & rain & such sounds great, but I hope it's smooth.
Like if they tried to jack a car being driven by an enemy, you might get gunned down in a drive-by.
Or you have to hot-wire parked cars in some cases.
Or maybe steal keys from a valet and then you get more money flipping the car after using it.
One description which was cool was that you could fire rocket launchers at an ally and if friendly fire was turned off, the rocket wouldn't kill the ally. However, the rocket would make the ally shoot up into the air and the fall would kill him unless he managed to land on the roof of a building or something.
My Xbox is due back from the mechanic on Monday, just in time for GTA, should I choose to go that route. The voice chat in the PS3 version is going to suck, right? As in, not many people have it, and it's dodgy at that. But now I'm suddenly very wary of my 360. Maybe buy the 360 version and Gamefly the PS3 one as a backup. This is all complicated by two old college friends who both plan on getting the game, one a 360 owner and the other PS3.
I wish Microsoft were more telling about what the DLC will entail.
I haven't bought into the hype of a game for a long time, but I'm just so damn giddy about the release of this game, I can hardly stand it.
I have purposely not played any of the older versions lately or a game like Saint's Row, so as to not ruin the experience for me when GTA4 finally does come out.

I cannot figure out why MS hasn't released what the DLC will be. Apparently it isn't gonna be that big, because that could sway a lot of people from one system to the other. I have the PS3 version pre-ordered because the series just feels right on the Playstation. However, if I can get an idea of what I am going to get that is 'extra' on the 360, that could make me move to that side. I just don't get why there isn't any info yet.

I don't think it's been announced yet. As far as I've heard each system will be getting their own distinct DLC. It would be nice to know which each system is getting but the PS3 versions would have to be getting something very special for me to consider getting it over the 360 version due to Xbox Live.

MS in general has been very quiet on the 360 lately. You paid how much for exclusive GTA content and you're not saying anything? You didn't do a special bundle?
Rumor is that the DLC is new play areas, you would think if that were true they would be singing it from the mountain tops.
Something is up in MS land and I don't get the feeling it is very good.

How can both Sony and MS have special content if MS paid all that money for exclusive content?
It it's like COD you might be getting new DLC around Xmas Time.
MS doesn't seem to know how to time DLC. They often come too late when everyone has stopped playing the game. The first content should be made available about a month after when initial interests wains. Then release content every month or 3 weeks.

Wow stop the press we agree 100% on something
I loved GRAW2, that latest co-op pack that came out and no one is buying just got it's priced reduced to 400 points and they still can't move them. Most people don't own GRAW2 anymore, I really want to play that pack, but the word co-op and the fact no one has it means I never will. They might as well give it aw3ay for free now, might cause people to buy a used copy or something.
I know people will think i am crazy but since Peter Moore left I think MS has been wandering around without a direction on what to do next.

The only version to get DLC is the 360 version. MS paid $50 million for those rights. Someone else had asked if there are any GTA bundles. Best Buy is offering a $50 gift card if you purchase a 360 and GTA IV. I don't know if MS is behind this but that should help sway some sales to the 360.

What's the PS3 dlc? I'm not sure ether side can talk. Where are gameplay videos & such? Prob all a part of the NDA. Rockstar wants to see this to sell on both systems.
Also, who says MS is solely responsible for long DLC release times? Don't the gaming companies have to give it to MS before they can release it? It's a 2-part process.

I've heard a lot about the size of this game, and that getting in squeezed onto the Xbox 360's standard DVD is no small feat (and that the game could actually ship on 2 discs for the 360). Is there any chance that the exclusive DLC is nothing more than new game areas that basically are already on the PS3's Blu-Ray disc?
Either way, is it definitely best to get this game for the 360 if I own both systems?
