Blue Dragon is supposedly a competent Japanese styled RPG (think Final Fantasy) and has been selling well in Japan, especially since they've made a special package with Blue Dragon being the pack-in to the console. That seems to be about it coming down the pipes, RPG wise, it seems.

Halo 3.
Honestly, I'm pretty untroubled by the variety of games or lack thereof, as I don't have any interest in most genres. Platform games? Ugh. RPGs? Not my cup of tea. I enjoyed Oblivion for a while, but even a game as well done as that one bored me after a while, so I'm not bemoaning the lack of a bunch of inferior RPGs.
I would like to see a 2K football game on the 360 at some point during the cycle. I'd like to see WE make it's way over, but the European reviews have been pretty indifferent and I'm happy with FIFA, so that's not a huge deal. I'd very much like to see Civ 4 and/or Total Rome. But I'm generally quite happy with what's on tap.
Oh, and more GoW, of course.

I will go with variety. I have been playing a lot of different games this year - since the 360 was shiny and new. But I am not that excited about even renting some of the games coming out next year. And I could care less about Halo 3. I am a lot more excited about Half Life 2.
Considering that 2 of the big 4 sports games have been botched efforts (Madden, 2K baseball), sports could use some work and more variety.
More games like Indigo Prophesy! I am tired of just pointing and shooting.
