I'd say Denver "won" that game more than Dallas lost it only because Dallas never looked right from the beginning. I think Dallas is pretty mediocre team with even worse coaching. I'd also say Denver has done a better job with Orton than Dallas has with Romo. Dallas can't decide what kind of team they want to be (other than 7&9)...

This whole conversation about the Bills offense is a carbon copy of the Jauron-era Bears. The man runs a football team like it's a fragile property moving company. Safety before all else.

Last year though, Edwards was making some of those throws, beautiful corner pattern throws into the window between the CB and the safety.

Is the running game the same without what's his name?

Lynch? Or Jason Peters, the O lineman who left?

Fred Jackson was a more-than-capable replacement for Lynch when Marshawn was on moron leave. He's averaging nearly 4.8 yards per carry this season.

Peters was a sack of sh*t after his holdout last year. I went to the game in which he returned, against the Raiders, and the guy was so out of shape he could barely move. The Bills' entire O line was retooled this year, and the results so far have been mixed.

Can't underestimate the loss of TE Derek Schouman, who was becoming a very steady receiver for Edwards before his injury two games ago. Still, this offense is going nowhere fast.

A telling sign about Edwards' inability to get the ball downfield: Jackson is the team's leading rusher AND receiver this season, in carries/yards and catches/yards.

Take care,
PK

I told you he'd be alright. Thought it was just against the Bills. If he does the same thing next Monday night against the Jets and their D, then I'll be more confident. He didn't make any terribly difficult throws yesterday except for maybe the TD to Hartline...that was pretty nice.

I'm not "right" quite yet...give it a few more weeks. I think Henne is gonna be good though. Hey may not be throwing for 300 yards, but that's more due to the fact that his receivers are all possession receivers with no down field threats (and no, Ginn is not a threat). I'm still not quite sure why they passed on drafting Nicks...they need a big threat like that...you can only do so much in the air with 3 possession receivers (Camarillo, Hartline, Bess).

I guess it could be worse...you could be the Raiders receiving core. Yikes.

They should have moved on Bouldin and if they're desperate there's always Crabtree. :P

Crabtree can't be traded until March.

And if he's going to play this year, he has to sign by 11/17.

I'd trade his rights for the Dolphins' first-round pick. But it's going to be a buyer's market if he does sit out the season.

I was kidding about Crabtree. I don't think the Dolphins brass would have anything to do with that type of player no matter how talented he is.

I know, but if Parcels could swallow TO ...

But 49ers will have a hard time getting a first-round pick for his rights.

Nah TO was forced on him by Jerry Jones which is one reason why he cut his stay short in Dallas and Romo muffing the field goal snap didn't help matters either.

Jon Gruden is doing a great job on MNF. For color guys, right now I like to listen to Collinsworth and Gruden. Will someone replace Jim Nance or Al Michaels with Gus Johnson...please. :D

Id like to see Gruden with Michaels...that would be good.

Ship Collinsworth to MNF where Jaws can teach him the rules.

I'm curious who gets their balls juggled more by the announcers...Kobe, Lebron or Brett? It's close...but I think Brett takes it.

At some point the Packers have to start blitzing right? I mean, really...the guy that shall not be named is just picking them apart. I could throw in the NFL with that much time.

He would never retire again, if he continues to have the time that he did tonight.

I have to say that I am really enjoying Jon Gruden as an analyst. He is insightful, with a decent sense of humor, and he isn't overbearing.

Favre was terrific tonight...as was Jared Allen. I wish the Chargers had him.

Gus Johnson? Are you kidding? The same Gus Johnson who hyperventilates if the wind knocks over a kicking tee?

God, no.

Nantz does suck, though. Casper Milquetoast. Just stick to golf where your genteel tones fit just right.

You guys are right: Chucky is damn good. Too bad this season will probably be a case of "one and done" in the booth. I can't see Gruden sitting in a booth until he's 70, like Madden. He's too young and too good of a coach to stay off the sidelines.

Take care,

That's what I'm afraid of. Favre must have the cleanest butt in the NFL because every announcer lines up to lick his ass.

Not that he didn't have a great game last night, and not that he's not a hall-of-fame QB. But everything he does is so hyperexaggerated. He had a very good game, sure, but on the other side, Aaron Rodgers lit up a good Vikings defense despite running for his life every time he dropped back. That was an impressive performance.

I just wish he'd hurry up and have one of his patented, game-killing, four-interception performances so the adulation gets dialed down a couple of notches.

I'm not about to say that Favre isn't going to have a bad game this year, but you saw last night the issue that teams are having defending the Vikings right now.

The Packers clearly decided to load up against the run and see if Favre could beat them. He did. I know that Minnesota doesn't have the best receivers in the league, but the group of Berrian, Harvin, Rice and Shiancoe are very good, and definitely able to make a team pay that is constantly putting 8 guys in the box.

As long as Favre is willing to accept checkdowns instead of forcing balls into coverage, the Minnesota offense is going to be tough to stop.

On the other side, the Packers moved the ball, but were doing so against a defense that was basically playing a prevent, and badly at that. The Vikings are just a better team right now than Green Bay, and unless they have some injuries, I don't think that things are going to change much in Green Bay in a few weeks. Bring on the Rams.
The sing-along songs'll be our scriptures.

Vikings do look good, I agree with that. Not many teams can get consistent pressure from their d-lines these days, and the teams that do tend to do well. If Favre stays healthy they will continue to win a lot of games. Their receivers may be average, but teams have to respect their speed because Favre can still throw it deep.
