Sorry Jared,I added one to your list. And my answer to your question is no. But I understand why it took a turn to the ugly side in the last few pages.

Jared,who's your favorite football team? Are they in the Super Bowl? If not,do you want to keep reading about how your team sucked and how stupid you are to be a fan? This thread was pretty civil doing Obama's inauguration, until some members decided to kick sand in the face of those that didn't vote for him and didn't think Bush was the devil. From the "want him dead" bullshit to "Your posts are comical. You logical is pathetic, however." That's throwing fuel on an already hot fire,don't you think?

No one likes to have their noses rubbed in sh!t. Yet a few people decided to do that instead of celebrating a historic day for their/our President elect. It drew reactions. I'm old school and I still believe in winning and losing with class. I for one am glad to see people stand up for what they believe in and deflect attacks on a former President. Especially on a day he shouldn't even have been mentioned. What was the point of that other than to stir up a shitstorm?

If you go back a read this thread,nobody attacked Obama on his historic day. No one mentioned anything bad about the man. It called respect and he was given that by members here that didn't vote for him. The blame on this thread turning sour doesn't fall on them. I think you should lock this one up and start another one called " President Obama's first 100 days in office". Change. It happened yesterday and IMO this thread needs to follow suit.

Jamie Foxx summed it up well on O'Reilly last night.

Good post JackDog. I have REAL strong feelings about Bush, but that ship has sailed.

Those that still love him will never be change their feelings by this point. I just hope better days lie ahead.

I'd like to vote NO. Maybe we should have pro-Bush and anti-Bush Politics threads :):) Then perhaps we could focus our energies on the current President. The funny thing is I'm only half kidding...

The arguments aren't pro-Bush and anti-Bush. Most of the people who are arguing "pro" are pro-moderation, pro-common sense, pro-perspective, not really pro-Bush.

For example, I'm moderately anti-Bush. However, I am also extremely anti-ignorance, anti-exaggeration, anti-hypocrisy, anti-arrogance, and anti-partisanship, so I am always at odds with the extreme anti-Bush posters flinging wild, poorly thought out, condescending, and often hypocritical claims, accusations, insults, death wishes, etc.

It's amazing to that there's a list of criteria we have for criticizing a former President. You can't do it on the day after he leaves office. You can't do it during a war. You can't do it this way or that.

Funny the GOP is now questioning Obama over his policies. Maybe they didn't get the memo.

Bush is fair game. Just as Obama is. There should not be a timeout for Obama. Bush doesn't get a reprieve because there's a "Fmr." before his title now.

I like the idea of the First 100 days of Obama thread btw. It'd be a blast to compare and contrast with a certain former-President who is now apparently off limits because Jamie Foxx and O'Reilly said so.

That's not my point at all. I could give a damn how much Bush is criticized. I do give a damn when I read "Bush is a Monster" "AMF GW" "Asleep at the wheel" "Katrina' and to paraphrase " I want Bush and Cheney dead." That's crossing the line to me. And it draws a response.

As far as the debates you have had, it's the way you word your responses. You make people think your calling them stupid. I understand why they respond to you the way they do.

Thanks man. To be clear on my end. I don't love him. I didn't vote for him. He was my President and he's not to blame for everything that's happened to our country.

I was listening to Dennis Miller on the radio yesterday and he made a great point. He said he had no problem with Obama flubbing his lines when he took his oath of office. He was probably nervous and you should cut the guy some slack. I totally agree with that. I heard it myself and thought the same thing.

What's interesting, he said was if that had happened to GW. We would not have heard the end of it on how stupid he was that he he couldn't remember his lines. That would have been fodder for the left wing media.

It was Justice Roberts's error. He recited it incorrectly. I'm sure Obama had it memorized and got thrown when Roberts altered the order.

The funny thing is, even though the error was slight, they had him take the oath again just to be safe. I guess that's happened twice before, with Calvin Coolidge and Chester A. Arthur.

I am half kidding, but my year-end statements this year were pretty appalling, even worse than the post 9/11 performance. I have one 401k that I'm vested in from a previous employer, my current one, and a Roth, and they were just battered. Even worse, there really wasn't a good place to put my money -- just about every fund was down about 25-45% across three separate accounts.

I'm not panicky, and I am in for the long haul, so I know that variance is part of the game. I'm no expert but I think I'm fairly informed about my retirement funds, following the usual advice about bond/stock allocations, looking at long-term performance when deciding on funds, and not having all my money in one or two funds. Still, it was pretty eye-opening to see just how poorly everything performed and how quickly you can lose money.
