LOL. Come on and admit it. You wore it for Game 7 in 2001 and they lost. What is more special than Game 7 of the World Series?TheFormerBrett44 wrote:If I wore it all the time it wouldn't be special anymore. No lucky jerseys will save you now. It is our time, it is our destiny.
Yes I waived the white flag, but that was because I made a bet with Yankee fans that I would give up my obnoxious cheering if we went down 3-0. I hated every minute of it. I will never make such a deal again. I will never give up on the Red Sox.
Logic is on our side this time. We went 11-8 against the Yanks this season, and finished ahead of them in many of the major pitching and hitting categories. And we were favored by Las Vegas and most baseball experts to win the series anyway.

You didn't make that bet on this forum. Why would a true fan of any team make a bet on 3 games in a 7 game series? Talk about logic? The logic is you bailed after the game 3 beatdown.Parker wrote:No lucky jerseys will save you now. It is our time, it is our destiny.

Hold on tight Parker, you jumped back on the bandwagon.
That sounds like the logic of a ten year old.Parker wrote: Yes I waived the white flag, but that was because I made a bet with Yankee fans that I would give up my obnoxious cheering if we went down 3-0. But you didn't believe in your team after Game 3. Changed your avatar, the whole shebang.Parker wrote:Logical or not, if you believe in your team, it's hardly unusual for a fan to make a bet based on one game.
Nice support when it really mattered.
Take care,

Do you have any self-respect left after abandoning your team after Game 3?Parker wrote:As I have explained before, I don't bet money or anything that will cost money. I put my self respect on the line instead.

And let us never forget what loyal Red Sox fan Parker changed his avatar to after Game 3 of this series:

"We" haven't forgotten that.

OK perhaps I did wear it, but I didn't have my lucky 1996 World Series Champions t-shirt underneath it which may or may have not caused the game losing hit Mariano gave up. Like I said, the baseball gods are very fickle...ask any Red Sox fan. The good thing is, the baseball gods are Yankees fans.Leebo33 wrote: LOL. Come on and admit it. EDIT: On second thought I don't want to piss off the baseball gods, who am I but a mere mortal to assume they are Yankees fans. I do however thank them for the continued success that they have brought the New York Yankees. Sorry...

I offered a charade that I didn't believe in my team after game 3 to fulfill a bet. But that's all it was, a charade.
Again, are you sure you're not a politician?!?!?
Cheers to the man who has no problem putting his self-repsect on the line for a game!! And for being a liar!
When you die, make sure to pack light...it gets pretty toasty down there.
