Orlando / Lakers final is almost a lock right now
It's funny, somebody posted this just a page or two back the other day:

"2.) We already know who is going to be in the finals. LA vs Cleveland. What fun is that?"

Funny how these things don't stay "locked" very long.

I just try to keep remembering last year, when the shoe was on the other foot. The Cavs swept through their first two rounds without a loss, while Orlando had a tough seven-game series with Boston. Everyone thought the Cavs were a lock against Orlando. We all know how that turned out.
Wasn't me that said LA vs Clev.

Anyway, of course it's not a "lock" or we could all become very rich in the next few weeks, but I just can't see anyone stopping Orlando's offense right now. But you're right....basketball shooters can be a streaky bunch.

Cleveland's Mike Brown could go down as the worst coach wasting the best talent in NBA history. Only way he saves his job is if LeBron's arm falls-off in the next 4 minutes...

I hope Lebron is paying good attention to the Boston players and bench to learn the way a NBA team should act when they are routing the other team. No carrying on...no dancing and laughing in their faces and rubbing it in. Just being proffesional.

Cav's are in serious trouble.

Hope Cavs fans enjoyed Lebrons last home game as a Cav. Obviously they aren't good enough to win with him and he probably realized it. Unless they figure some stuff out in a couple days they are done, he's gone nd Cavs fans hurl themselves off the nearest bridge.

If it's any consolation Lex, I know EXACTLY how you feel. As a Hawks fan, I am quite familiar with 25+ point blowouts. Celtics are really clicking these past couple games and Lebron doesn't seem his intense, competitive self. Maybe he has "Joe Johnson free agent-itis"???

As I said...Shaq and the rest of the Cavs are basically falling apart. If they make it past the Celtics at this point I'll be surprised.

I’m so disgusted right now... I can’t believe what I saw last night. All this talk about Mike Brown losing the team, the players, especially LeBron, are pissed at him, you know what, I DON’T GIVE A F*CK!!!!! BE A PROFESSIONAL!!!! You’re being paid millions and millions of dollars to do your job, and in LeBron’s case his job is to play like an MVP and lead this team, DO YOUR JOB, quit being such a whiny little b*tch just because you’re having a little tiff with the coach, sitting there staring at the ceiling like you don’t give a damn during timeouts, and not getting involved on the court at all!!! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!

And all this talk about LeBron leaving because he feels he can’t win a championship here, that’s a crock of sh*t!!! This team’s good enough to win it all. The Cavs have done more than enough to surround him with what he needs. If he leaves town like this, without winning a ring here, it’s totally on him, it’s not the Cavs’ fault.

Shaq's not falling apart, he's getting better every game, at least offensively, nobody on the team's playing defense lately. He's even making his free throws, ha! Any beef he's having with Mike Brown, he's putting it behind him and doing his best on the court, it's called being a PROFESSIONAL, something LeBron should try.

I'm starting to agree with you and your comments about LeBron's professionalism. When things are going good, maybe he does go a little overboard celebrating. Just like when things are going bad, he goes way overboard the other way, he starts pouting and becomes distant, uninvolved. We're really seeing that now. :(

But then again, Mike didn't win sh*t for the first half of his career either.

This post game quote from Lebron is just awesome.

“I spoil a lot of people with my play. When you have three bad games in seven years, it’s easy to point them out.”

What an idiot...good ballplayer...but an idiot.

Wow. Didn't see that. This dude's head already is in New York. Definitely anywhere but Cleveland.

Here's another gem PK:

“I put a lot of pressure on myself to go out be great and the best player on the court, When I’m not, I feel bad for myself because I’m not going out there and doing the things I know I can do.”

Can you imagine MJ, Bird, Magic or any championship calibur superstar saying that? How about you feel bad for your team because you didn't show up asshole...

No doubt, man. Dude is way more of a "ME" guy than I ever imagined, not that I have followed the NBA that closely before this year's playoffs. :)

Wow, I just reread my post from this morning, yikes, I sound like a jerk, sorry for all the cussing and exclamation points... I'm okay now. :D

It's just so frustrating. If this is the end of his time here, this isn't at all how I imagined it would end. I was expecting him to go out in a blaze of glory, with either a championship or at least a hard-fought, heart-breaking loss in the Finals, one that we could whine about for decades, after all that's what we do best here. :D

I wasn't expecting him to go out like this, pouting at the end of the bench in the second round.

If you would have asked me a few weeks ago I would have said no way he's leaving. Now I'm not so sure. Like PK said, it looks like his head is elsewhere.

Lex....you are going through exactly what I just went thru with Joe Johnson and the Hawks. Johnson seemed totally distracted by this free agency thing coming up and all the pressure to perform totally dismantled him. When expectations are high things fall apart, players react differently to try and counter it. Some act like they don't care. Some say stupid things or try and shift blame. Some just can't handle it.

Fortunately Lebron has one more chance to right the ship. For me and my Hawks, it's "game over". I do understand your frustration. Losing by more than 25 at home is a hard pill to swallow for fans that were expecting so much more. All you can do is watch in horror. But watching sports is kind of like playing golf for me. You have to expect there to be lows and highs. Expecting yourself to split every fairway or make every 5 footer is setting yourself up for heartbreak. For now, be happy you are still one of a few teams left that are still playing and hope....

Prediction: If LeBron goes anywhere (other than Cleveland) it will be to the Dallas Mavericks. Good TV market (and time zone), solid fan base, dedicated owner with cash(could take a cap hit if needed), good surrounding players with some contracts to unload. If he wins a championship, he stays. If not, see ya!

Ironically going inside to Shaq was one thing that WAS working for Clev. last night. I agree with you, Shaq's doing exactly what's being asked of him right now. You can respect that.

This is a strange series.

Cavs handed Celtics their worst home loss in the playoffs.

Celtics came back and destroyed the Cavs on their court.

Nothing makes sense any more. I wouldn't be surprised if Cavs win the next one and lose at home.

On the court, LeBron's not selfish at all.

But he's just got role players around him. Williams has his streaks but he's not going to score 30 consistently in the playoffs.

LeBron isn't reacting well to this burden but he needs his Pippen or Gasol. He may need to go to the Lakers, because other teams have this stupid habit of giving very good players or high draft picks to the Lakers for nothing.

Well you said he's ONLY going to Dallas, so Vinny's got the field. You called the shot, now back it up.

Ok, so typically the field gets crap odds so I'll my $1 vs his $400.
