Respect your opinion, as always, brother.

We'll just agree to disagree on GWB, but my rejection of him in no way should be interpreted as criticism of the dedicated service our fighting men and women have performed since Sept. 2001. If their approval rating isn't at 100 percent, then something is wrong.

Take care,
PK

Yup. :)
I knew it sounded familiar.

The funny part is in the confusion here..In that the joke refers to Carter... :)

No doubt man. Never took your post any other way. I just wanted to point out some things Bush did that I thought were pretty good. That being said, approving the"Surge" is about the only thing he's done right in the last two years. That won the war in Iraq. He lost focus on our economy and it went into the shitter. Obama's got his hands full. I hope he's a success.

And I hope that was a snide remark or joke ... Otherwise, it's hysterical hyperbole of the highest order.

Bush was a sh*tty president, no question. Led by pure ideology rather than practicality, which never is a good thing.

But history's greatest monster? Ever hear of Hitler? Pol Pot? Stalin? Mao? Milosevic?

You're comparing a bad president to leaders who attempted extermination of certain segments of their population?

Come on. I guess people will say anything -- as stupid as it may be -- to get a rise.

Idiots and monsters don’t do what President Bush has done in Africa over the course of his Administration. He's prevented terrorist attacks on home soil for 7 years, cutting taxes for married couples and middle class tax payers, liberating two countries, both of which I proudly served. He's appointed judges who will stand up for the life of unborn and aged people. That's why I won't call him a shitty President. So we will agree to disagree on that point.

Come Tuesday,I hope to God Obama doesn't face half the bullshit Bush had to deal with in his first term. Just like Bush,he will have his work cut out for him. People will find out that one man doesn't make or break this country.
I'm sure there were people that thought Hoover did good things too. On the whole, Bush will go done as one of the worst.

There are a series of errors here that make him one of the worst.

You can say, he prevented terrorists attacks at home. But on the flip side the world isn't safer from terrorism, it's just that the front might have been temporarily moved.

You can say he lower taxes, the lack of executive oversight in regulation did a lot worse to offset any of the tax breaks.

As for conservative judges, I think he set a very dangerous precedent where justices don't really have to say much of anything to get appointed by the Senate. That's great that you support these type of conservative judges, but when Obama appoints liberal judges, we are going to here the cry that they activist judges and they should answer questioning on their beliefs and positions.

Bush was a f*** up. Though he has only himself to blame. 9/11 was a tragic opportunity for him to stem the tide of anti-us sentiment around the world. I believe had he not appointed Cheney, and appointed more a true conservative, Bush probably would not be in bad shape. He got himself into trouble by listening to the Cheney Hawks and not those of Bush 41. Had he listened to more of Bush 41 advisers, we might not be in the situation as a country.

Anyway there's no way to tell, but Bush will go done as a Hoover type president.

Obama will he has to earn what he's going to do. Just because you ride into the White House, regarded as the next Lincoln, you still have to actually do something.

Regardless, Tuesday marks a important day in US history, not because of Obama's background. Never before the US, and sometimes afterward, has their been a succession of leaders where there isn't violence, bloodshed or rioting. The preaceful transition of power has got to be regarded as a impressive accomplishment by the founders.

Let's not forget that Bill Clinton knew about Osama Bin Laden and ignored it. Let's not forget that it was Billy boy who allowed Al Qaeda to fester and grow into the threat they became prior to 9/11.

Geez can we blame GW for all the car accidents on the roads while we're at it?

Clinton didn't ignore s***. They prevented attacks targeted for the Millenium and the first thing Rice was told about was Al Qaeda, which she didn't take seriously.

When Clinton did attack, he was accused of wag the dog for bombing an alleged aspirin factory, which in fact showed soil traces of chemical weapons precursors.

And people like to blame Clinton for WTC '93. Um, what was Bush 41 doing, if you want to play that game?

Clinton failed to pursue Bin Laden when there were various chances, in the Sudan or in Afghanistan. Of course, the military interventions in the Balkans and Mogadishu were opposed so what was the likelihood of not getting flack for attacking Bin Laden in the '90s?

It doesn't matter, when Bush 43 had the mandate to go after Bin Laden, they didn't commit ground troops, relying instead on Northern Alliance soldiers who were easily bribed and you had the fiasco of Tora Bora.

Then he cut and run to Iraq, leaving unfinished business in Afghanistan. Later he'd say getting Bin Laden was no longer important. No more "dead or alive" or "smoke him out" talk.

"Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one" I posted mine. You posted yours. Nothing posted here will sway my opinion on Bush and his Presidency. Thanks for playing though.
Couric: How important do you think it is, Mr. President-elect, to apprehend Osama bin Laden?

Mr. Obama: I think that we have to so weaken his infrastructure that, whether he is technically alive or not, he is so pinned down that he cannot function. My preference obviously would be to capture or kill him. But if we have so tightened the noose that he's in a cave somewhere and can't even communicate with his operatives, then we will meet our goal of protecting America.
Thanks Mr Bush!
