Hawks are an enigma. I have never before seen a team that can look so good at times and yet so unbelievably bad at times. It has to come down to lack of coaching and team leadership. Hopefully the Hawks will get blown out in game 4 and it will force the owner to let Woodson and Joe Johnson go. Johnson said last night "I don't care if the fans show up". That doesn't sound like someone who plans on staying to me. Johnson has been an abomination in the playoffs and that will hurt his free agency value. His "one on one" style of play stagnates the offense IMO and the Hawks will be better off in the long run cutting ties now.

As well as Suns and Lakers. Gonna be a hell of a Final Four. I still say the winner of the west gets the ring, but at least none of the garbage teams in the East can make it to the conference finals. It's always good when the best four teams make it without any fluke things happening (as a Suns fan, I know it happens often, especially playing the Spurs). Can't wait. Just gotta close em out tonight.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Cavs and Magic are on a collision course. Period.

I think whoever wins the West (90% Lakers) will find out how tough Orlando is this year. Improved Dwight plus Vince Carter = a better team than last year. When all those perimeter guys are hitting 3's and Howard is locking down the paint....it's tough to beat em.

I think he's talking about Atlanta & Boston getting in. Suns are a great story this year. Playing great, playing as a team, prob last shot for 'these guys' to make a run at it. Here's a great video after game 3:JackB1 wrote:Cavs and Magic = "garbage teams"???dbdynsty25 wrote:As well as Suns and Lakers. Gonna be a hell of a Final Four. Youre right.....my bad! Can't argue with calling the Hawks garbage right now. I was close to throwing garbage at them last nightgreggsand wrote:I think he's talking about Atlanta & Boston getting in. Boston on the other hand, is playing pretty good right at the moment.

Yeah, Rondo was awesome yesterday. All season long I've been wondering why players keep letting LeBron block those fastbreak layups from behind, but Rondo FINALLY figured it out yesterday, that behind-the-back pass to Allen trailing the play was a thing of beauty!
I'm disappointed in the Cavs. Orlando's firing on all cylinders right now, playing like a championship contender should be playing at this time of the year, while the Cavs are playing like it's the middle of February... bust their asses one game, then take it easy the next.
There's no way a point guard should get 18 rebounds. Boston got every 50/50 ball. Where's the hustle? The weakside defense was a joke, and we kept getting burned on those fastbreaks, we couldn't get back in time. How does that happen at this time of the year, especially against a supposedly older, slower team like Boston?
Now there are grumblings Shaq's unhappy about his playing time late in the game yesterday.
Even if they get past Boston, right now they don't seem to have the drive or desire to beat Orlando.

I can't imagine the Celtics right now without Rondo. He makes that team go. If he ever improves his outside jump shot where it's consistent, he WILL be the best PG in the NBA, no question.dbdynsty25 wrote:I can't bear to watch Rondo play knowing the Suns traded that pick away for money. Pisses me off every time. That kid could be the best all around PG in the nba. He's just awesome.
Boston actually looked like the "younger" team yesterday. They really surprised me with how well they played. They have made this a series.lexbur wrote:Yeah, Rondo was awesome yesterday. Lets see how Lebron responds.
Shaq hasn't been a cancer at all this year. Everybody keeps saying how well he's accepted his role on this team and what a great teammate he's been. This is the first time all year there's been any sort of grumblings from him, and it's almost justifiable, considering he was having his best game since returning from the thumb injury. This thing seems more of an indictment on Mike Brown than Shaq.dbdynsty25 wrote:No way...Shaq whining? You're kidding? Again, so glad the Suns got rid of that cancer. You can see what kind of chemistry a team can have when he's NOT on the team anymore.

You don't hear about all the Shaq stories till he leaves. Mark my words. He's destroyed every team he's been on so far. Plus he was injured most of the year in Cleveland. Give him time.lexbur wrote:Shaq hasn't been a cancer at all this year. Everybody keeps saying how well he's accepted his role on this team and what a great teammate he's been. Doesn't matter. Whoever emerges from the Clev/Bos series will be pounded by Orlando. That team is playing like a machine right now.lexbur wrote:Well, those other three second-round series sure were captivating.
Hey db - even though I'm growing less and less optimistic about the Cavs' chances with each passing day, I'd LOVE to see a Cavs/Suns Finals. It'd be payback for the '95 World Series.

Cleveland losing another championship is payback? What did you guys do in Cleveland to deserve all the losing?lexbur wrote:Well, those other three second-round series sure were captivating.

I'm just pissed the WCF don't start for another week. Sheesh. The Lakers and Suns will have to play game 1 like it's training camp with all the off time. Unfortunately the off time helps the Lakers more than the Suns since they have been the best team in the NBA in the second half of the season (at least in the WC). 37 and 9 now. Wish they could just start playing tonight.

Oh yeah...and you do know that tonights game could be Lebron's last home game in a Cavs uni right? You're not gripping about that yet?lexbur wrote:Well, those other three second-round series sure were captivating.

It's funny, somebody posted this just a page or two back the other day:JackB1 wrote:
Orlando / Lakers final is almost a lock right now
"2.) We already know who is going to be in the finals. LA vs Cleveland. What fun is that?"
Funny how these things don't stay "locked" very long.
I just try to keep remembering last year, when the shoe was on the other foot. The Cavs swept through their first two rounds without a loss, while Orlando had a tough seven-game series with Boston. Everyone thought the Cavs were a lock against Orlando. We all know how that turned out.

The NBA playoffs are def the most predictable (or least surprising) of all the major sports playoff. Usually the best looking teams at the start of the playoffs is who gets there. Injuries are really the only thing to sidetrack it. Orlando looks good right now, but if the cavs took them in 6, would anyone really be surprised? It all hinges on LeBron's health IMO.
As much as I love the Phoenix story, I can't see a scenario where they beat the Lakes (barring injury).

You and everyone else...I like it like that. They've got a legit shot...no one is playing better in the last few months. It's gonna be a hellova series...when they start it in August.greggsand wrote:As much as I love the Phoenix story, I can't see a scenario where they beat the Lakes (barring injury).
