Clippers have a real solid starting 5. I am surprised they aren't winning more.macsomjrr wrote:Didn't watch the all-star game besides the highlights. Shaq and Kobe looked very cute together maybe they really have kissed and made up.
Anyway... as a Clipper fan I've gotta say I was a big fan of Corey Magguette while he was with the team but after seeing this classic Corey sequence I'm reminded why we let him go. You've got to watch this it really is unbelievable.

Yeah they do.... NOW! We've been fighting injuries all season long. Baron was out for awhile, Randolph came back couple weeks ago after being out for months, Camby was out for a few games, Kaman hasn't touched the ball... its just been a horrible season but now that we're pretty healthy the games are a bit more bearable to watch. EJ and Al Thornton are great, especially Al with his supernatural athleticism but both are still learning the NBA game and make too many mistakes on the court as evidenced by an 11 of 12 losing streak a couple games back.JackB1 wrote:Clippers have a real solid starting 5. I think we're a 500 team right now so the rest of the year should be more enjoyable. We'll see...

Haven't been watching any NBA of late, not even the all star game.
As a Suns fan, I just don't get any pleasure out of watching a squad with a lot of talent underachieve. At this point, I don't care what kind of trade they make and who they ship out, as long as they can get some young players in return. I'd actually have fun watching a team with so so talent overachieve for a change.
I'm happy Terry Porter is gone. At first I thought he'd be a decent coach . . . he was a good guard during his playing days. I hope Alvin Gentry can bring the team together and get them playing up to their ability.

ESPN's Sports Guy always says that their coach is the worst in the NBA and the players hate him and have quit trying.JackB1 wrote:Clippers have a real solid starting 5. Yeah, no way they take back Wallace...the whole point of the Suns trading Shaq or Amare is to shed salary. Getting Wallace's 14 mil saves the Suns a few million, but not what they want.lexbur wrote:No, he's scheduled to make 14 million in 09/10. It looks like Phoenix wants Szczerbiak instead of Wallace though. Probably not gonna happen.dbdynsty25 wrote:Hmmm...Wallace isn't expiring though, is he?

And I just watched the Suns put up 140 and 142 on back to back nights against them. They are an injury waiting to happen, but come on...282 points in 2 games? Remember, the Cavs will get a late season addition in the person of Delonte West.lexbur wrote:I guess it's over, Cavs are standing pat. I have mixed emotions. Part of me wanted to see them add a big man, but another part of me says you don't mess with a team that's 41-11.
Celts get Will Solomon!! weeeeeeeee!!
Who?
Yeah, when West comes back LeBron will spend more time down near the basket, which is kinda like adding a big.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:

I think the real winners today are the Knicks. Larry Hughes? Nice. LOL! What were they thinking?
anytime the biggest trade near the deadline is Jermaine for Marion it is a pretty uneventful period. All the contenders stood pat (Alston to the Magic is really just a bandaid on an amputated limb; unless Jameer heals they aren't contenders), so I guess we get to see who ends up with the "Buyout big shots" like Joe Smith and Mikki Moore.
Yeah.
Yeah.

Definitely the most economic-minded set of trades I can recall. Nearly all of these were made with 2010 in mind instead of trying to get better now.
Pretty happy with the Bulls moves. They dumped Larry Hughes and his contract, picked up a 1st round pick for a guy who was going to be on the bench, added a better center in Brad Miller than what they had, and picked up some offense in John Salmons. All of that for Andres Nocioni, Thebo Sefalosha, and a bunch of guys they were more than happy to trade. They got a little better now and will have a lot of cap flexibility next year.

What's hilarious, is that on the Real GM boards I go to (has forums for each team)...there were eight 100 page threads on the Bulls board alone dedicated to Amare and how the Bulls thought they were getting him. It was awesome watching that whole board deflate over the last few days. I seriously thought there were gonna be some suicides.Brando70 wrote:Definitely the most economic-minded set of trades I can recall. Amare will be back in 5 weeks...bet on it. Goggles and all. Idiot didn't continue to wear his goggles after tearing his iris in the preseason. That was obviously stupid.
But the Suns were done when they hired TP at the beginning of the season. Now they are REALLY done. Maybe they can make the playoffs and do some damage, but I'm not counting on that.
What a week...
