It's about time someone complained about that.Diablo25 wrote:Even though I hate the Braves and Mets, I can't say that I disagree with Chipper...he makes some VERY valid points.

I totally agree with Larry.
Yep that is a good story. But if keeps watching the bullpen implode,he might go back on the s***. My God,I have never seen a bullpen as bad as the Reds.Sudz wrote:how about former heroin addict hamilton turning his life around...at least you have that going for youJackDog wrote:May 13th and my Reds are already 10.5 games out of 1st. Your right. But you had the pleasure of watching them win how many division crowns in the last 15 years? Cry me a river Scott.dbdynsty25 wrote:Must not have watched the Braves last year.JackDog wrote:Yep that is a good story. But if keeps watching the bullpen implode,he might go back on the s***. I hope the Tribe fares better in Detroit this weekend than the Cavs. Should be a fun series to watch.
Quite a rivalry growing between the two cities... Cavs and Pistons in the Eastern Conference Finals, Tribe and Tigers battling for first place in the AL Central, and the Browns and Lions battling for the highest draft pick.

Can't say I disagree THAT much with Stark. Andruw is definitely losing some ground the outfield...but he is still in a class by himself, even if the numbers are down. That's just how far he was ahead of everyone else. Someone, other than the Braves, is going to overpay him this winter (or summer if he is traded) and he's going to decline further. It will be a pretty big mistake. He is still my favorite player, but obvious is obvious...he's losing a significant amount of money right now. This article is probably opening some more eyes, as well as that .220 batting average. How are the Braves in striking distance with this guy doing basically nothing? If he gets on track, it's gonna be a fun summer.

I think the Braves and Mets will flip flop until it's done in october.
All 3 series between them have been highly contested, but props to the Braves for winning all of them.

A thriller. Justice in the end for a great game pitched by S. Marcum. With 50 games into the season, who would have thought that the Yankees & Jays are so far away from the Bosox. Sure Toronto had its share of injuries so far, but any win vs the Yankees is sweet.pigpen81 wrote: BTW...how sweet was Hill's theft of home against the Yanks?
And in the meantime, the 7th game of the Stanley Cup will be switched from NBC to the Outdoor Network...err... Versus,as the 4th OT is about to beginpigpen81 wrote:This just in, Sportscenter has announced that Roger Clemens will get a hummer Sunday evening before his 1st game back with the Yankees. As a Tribe fan,and having just watched a pretty good Indians team sweep the Tigers in Detroit...the Bosox are having thier way with Cleve. (albiet they aren't seeing C.C. or Carmona this trip). I know its far too early to annoit them champs...but barring catastrophic injury or plague, they are going to be tough to beat. I don't see anyone even close to them right now.10spro wrote:A thriller. Justice in the end for a great game pitched by S. Marcum. I have to respectfully disagree with you, my friend. It's way too early to be talking about playoff matchups, but even Tom Hamilton, the radio voice of the Tribe said last night, that other years the Tribe has gone into Fenway and you could feel that, if the two teams met in October, the Tribe would be in trouble. But he said he doesn't get that feeling this year at all.snaz16 wrote: As a Tribe fan,and having just watched a pretty good Indians team sweep the Tigers in Detroit...the Bosox are having thier way with Cleve. They didn't exactly have their way with us. Plus it was our bottom three guys in the rotation against their top three guys in their rotation. Plus they play in a cupcake division this year, even with Roger Clemens coming back, so that's gonna inflate their record.
I dunno. One thing I do know, it's way too early to be talking like this. I was not disappointed at all by what happened at Fenway this week, and am certainly not ready to crown the Red Sox AL Champs just yet. Just like I'm not ready to crown the Tribe Central Division champs just by what happened last weekend in Detroit.

That would be a hell of a story to come full circle like that...sportdan30 wrote:With the Cards possibly losing Chris Duncan to the dl, maybe they should consider bringing up AAA prospect, Rick Ankiel. The name sounds familiar.![]()
Here are his stats: Ankiel has 12 homers and 40 RBIs with a .278 average.

Holy crap, is the A-Rod pop-up incident *really* such a big deal? It's a given that the National media will harp on the guy at whatever chance they get, but I continue to be amazed how NY fans kill the guy for every little thing. And the fact that the Jays seethed in the dugout post game seems a bit extreme. Steve Somers said it well in that if the shoe were on the other foot and A-Rod was distracted by some kid rounding third base and making some noise... he'd have been crucified in the press. The guy clearly can't win. Besides, getting in players heads is common in all sports. I'm not advocating it per se, but that it happened is hardly earth-shattering.
It has been widely believed that the team has never embraced him nor supported him in most cases and here is further fuel for the fire in the AP report on Joe Torre's opinion on this issue: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/stor ... BHeadlines
So I repeat, is this *really* a big f'n deal?
