Uruguay looked down at Costa Rica and got burned?
No shaking of hands after the match. What is that about?

Liverpool I mean England!
Beautiful play to even the score. Didnt waste any time.
Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
That would have been a beautiful sombrero by Balotelli.
Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
England have Candreva on the pay no mind list.
That was a rough ending to the half.

So far, this has been such an entertaining WC to watch compared to 4 years back. Let's see. Twenty two goals in the first 6 games compared to 8 for the same amount of games in SA.
Things will get much tighter in the elimination round of course, but overall good to watch.

Freaked out by the quality of this match. I don't watch much football these days, so I'd only heard of Sterling and not seen him. What a player! Two great goals. If that Italian goal was a set piece from start to finish, I'm even happier to have an Italian as president of the ECB. And the England goal was class from start to finish too.
Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
Rooney has been horrible. I thought he was England's best player?
Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
Love watching Pirlo, the engine that makes the Azurri click. Great win for Italy.
BTW, beautifully referreed!

Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
Horribly struck balls with time running out by English players.
Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
They looked out of gas.
Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
Pirlo showed some fabulous touches. Would've been amazing if he'd clung the free kick, though the England keeper seemed to misjudge the flight of that ball by a long way. Maybe another ultra-light World Cup ball but he didn't look as solid as the Italian replacement keeper to me. Best match I've seen in this tournament. Two very good teams IMO and England were unlucky not to get anything out of it.

Watching Japan Ivory Coast and I am not liking my boys chances against japan next game.
That strike by Honda was not very reassuring. Some massive pressure after it too.

Rooney's corner kick was my highlight of the tournament so far.
Great goal by Honda tonight and a fun World Cup so far.

Anyway, I was glad the Liverpool players played well - especially since they`re half of the team! I have to pinch myself each time I remember Raheem Sterling is only 19 years old.

Yeah. I thought I was watching a Liverpool match. They really have grown on me.Macca00 wrote:That human potato head earns £300,000 a week. A WEEK! lolXXXIV wrote:It was classic.Macca00 wrote:Rooney's corner kick was my highlight of the tournament so far.

At one point in the second half 8 of the 11 players on the field for England were from either Liverpool or Everton which was pretty neat.
My favorite bandwagon ever!
Re: World Cup 2014 Thread
oh and yeah...Ivory Coast pulled the Costa Rica flip on Japan. Down 1-0 one minute and up 2-1 a few minutes later.
My boys are so done.
