So far, this has been such an entertaining WC to watch compared to 4 years back. Let's see. Twenty two goals in the first 6 games compared to 8 for the same amount of games in SA.
Things will get much tighter in the elimination round of course, but overall good to watch.
Freaked out by the quality of this match. I don't watch much football these days, so I'd only heard of Sterling and not seen him. What a player! Two great goals. If that Italian goal was a set piece from start to finish, I'm even happier to have an Italian as president of the ECB. And the England goal was class from start to finish too.
Pirlo showed some fabulous touches. Would've been amazing if he'd clung the free kick, though the England keeper seemed to misjudge the flight of that ball by a long way. Maybe another ultra-light World Cup ball but he didn't look as solid as the Italian replacement keeper to me. Best match I've seen in this tournament. Two very good teams IMO and England were unlucky not to get anything out of it.

It was classic.
That human potato head earns £300,000 a week. A WEEK! lol
Anyway, I was glad the Liverpool players played well - especially since they`re half of the team! I have to pinch myself each time I remember Raheem Sterling is only 19 years old. At one point in the second half 8 of the 11 players on the field for England were from either Liverpool or Everton which was pretty neat.

Yeah. I thought I was watching a Liverpool match. They really have grown on me.
