At that website the game is $54.99 minus 40% off which brings the game to $32.99

I paid full price and the game is worth every cent of that so you guys got a helluva deal
Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
I've been reading the impressions threads over at OS and seems like the vast majority like it. all admit to some bugs and AI issues but overall feeling from what I read over there is that it is a fun game.
I only have 360 and it's the only MLB game available so even if it sucks, I'll do like I did with Madden 11 and force myself to like it

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
I skipped last years game so I bit on the 2k11 deal even though I don't have much time for gaming anymore plus Top Spin 4 comes out next week and I do want to spend a lot of time with it, it's a sickness I tell ya.

You misunderstand, the impressions I am reading suggest the AI is horrible. Anyway I haven't played it so it was more of a joke based on impressions I am reading.Rodster wrote:Danimal wrote:

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Been playing a while this evening and I've gotta admit, it's a damn fun game and it plays decently too. I still hate the missile command pitching...way too much sh*t going on and ultimately that will just annoy the sh*t out of me. It's not better than the Show by any available metric in my mind, but it's enjoyable and it plays a good game on the field from what I can tell. Those of you who like it, I can definitely see why (either the Show has gotten stale for you, or you've only got a 360)...so I'm stoked to see another good game. This is the first time in years that I haven't shut off a 2K game out of frustration so that's some progress. I'll probably pick it up for the PC just to have a change of pace occasionally. So carry on.
Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
The original EA Game Changer, pasta padre, has been critical of the game -- no real surprise there. He bags on the Show every year, too -- and probably won't have either game on his year-end 10 best list.
I haven't played the retail copy yet but the majority of comments I've read have been positive. Glad to see 2k making strides with their baseball title -- can't ever have too many quality bb titles to choose from.

Gotta love competition! Basically, consumers can get 2 baseball games for the price of 1, within a day of their release.Rodster wrote:I just picked up MLB 2K11 for the 360 $32.99 shipped. Use the promo code in the deals thread. Works for MLB 11 The Show too.

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Might have spoken too soon. AI was atrocious in my last game.
CPU pinch hit a pitcher down 3-1 in the 6th, then the guy stayed in and pitched three innings, then in the bottom of the 9th, still trailing 3-1, pitcher hits again with 1 out and a guy on first. WTF?

I bought the game today(with that discount code), but I'm not touching the game until the first "major patch" comes out. I did the same with NBA & was so glad I did.

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Ya I planning on buying a baseball game either but can't beat that price. It's hard for me to sit thru and play 9 innings. That's why I liked 'my player' mode last year. But OS forums are saying My Player hasn't really changed much so not sure what I'll do w/ that.
Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
It has nothing to do with competition GT. According to a CAG poster they screwed up by including videogames in the deal. Nascar 11 is also part of the deal and that's an exclusive game. I just hope those orders don't get cancelled.GTHobbes wrote:Gotta love competition! Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
so, do I take the wrapper off this or not?
seems like people think it's better than last year.. fun to play with questionable AI.. Anyone who posted previous have any additional feedback? I'm not expecting it to be a FIFA or NBA2k11, but I don't want a dud either. I'm simply looking for a fun baseball experience to share with cold beer and chips this summer. (minus any game killing issues or obvious technical / gameplay glitches)

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Near as I can tell, if you can deal with the downright unforgivable pitching/pinch hitting substitutions then you'll be fine. Those are the only glaring issues I've seen. Otherwise, it's a fun game of ball, but I'm a purist, so there's no way I can deal with the AI issues day to day.

They didn't mention which version so is it safe to assume just the consoles? 2K has never properly supported the PC version.
Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
Ronnie from 2K said the PC version was a later build and these issues were already fixed or something to the effect where a first day patch wasn't needed.Rodster wrote:They didn't mention which version so is it safe to assume just the consoles? 2K has never properly supported the PC version.

Re: MLB 2K11 info coming tomorrow
You can get pretty quick games by setting one of the presentation settings to 2K10. I think it's real time by default. You can also turn off replays in the same screen (different setting).
This will cut down the time between pitches dramatically, but it retains the batter walkup/introduction.
