Do I keep upgrading my cars as much as possible or do I keep some of each class? I see that after you add too much horsepower upgrades that it jumps up to the next class. And what upgrades are best to do? The choices are mind boggling. I wish there was an "auto-upgrade" option like in "Juiced".
Lets say I need a good "C" car......do I upgrade a "D" to the highest "C" level before it becomes a "B" or do I just grab a "C" car and ungrade that a little?

I wish there was a "Forza for Dummies" book :D

Some things I have noticed about the performance index number is that 400 is the cutoff point between D and C classes, 550 is the cutoff point between C and B classes, 700 is the cutoff point between B and A classes, and 850 is the cutoff point between A and S classes. Keep those numbers in mind whenever you're trying to upgrade your car to the point where you don't want to hop into the next higher class.

Here's my UEFA car. It's a work in progress. I have just been making the logos for UEFA. The UEFA logo with europe took some time. :)

is that supposed to be a globe on the hood? if so, there is a "global" earth layer in the game.

Cool paint jobs guys, but...

want to start a new thread for showing off your creations? Not sure about the legs this thread has left, but I'd prefer to keep it image-free. Or am I the only one who feels this way?

Nope.

Great job on the paintings, but I think we should have a separate thread for them. Keeping the impressions in here.

Thanks

After spending a good bit of time with the game. I think the racing model is very good but the features are poor.

To me it's like Pro, Evo except that they did a better job of hiding that they don't have that many courses or variation of modes.

First of the fantasy tracks are not fun for me. The only one I like is the "Autumn" track.

By comparision TOCA had 31 racing locations and 49 tracks. 20 racing locations and 47 tracks.

It just feels that I'm racing the same track over and over again. Online helps a bit because the AI is overly bland.

Sadly I think the equation for a racing title is more cars equal great reviews. And it doens't matter if the career mode and tracks are sub par. There really should be like 50 racing locations and 100 tracks for a next gen racing.

This would have helped the career mode in this game. If you pick Europe as the base, then you should be racing in France, Switzerland, UK, and other places. Same for the other two locations. Even fake locations in a somewhat real world atmosphere would make this game great. Right now, for me atleast it's only good. Not enough tracks to enjoy all the cars.

Had a lot of fun racing tonight boys (well it was usually me starting at the front of the grid and then finding myself at the back in about 15 seconds but fun nevertheless!).

JRod,
Your UEFA car design is fantastic. How long did it take you to do?

The UEFA Europe logo took me about two hours on and off. The rest maybe 45 minutes combined maybe a little longer.

Ooh, this is SOO going to be a problem.

GF should be delivering Forza 2 anyday now, and yet I'm all booked up with LOTRO stuff...hmm, adventuring with friends in my favorite MMO --which takes all available hours, or playing Forza online with DSP buddies....which takes all available hours. Crap.

Maybe if I don't sleep?

I think I agree, JRod. By far, the biggest weakness of this game is the lack of race tracks and the small fields of cars, both online and offline. Both remain unchanged from the original Xbox version, and while they added a bunch of cars, they've completely dropped the ball on these areas. There is just no way they should have stuck with 8-car races in this next gen. The lack of tracks seems to be little more than lack of effort (and from that I take that they don't see it as a probelm). I'm sure there would be licensing fees and such involved for real world tracks, but you're right JRod, in comparison to ToCA (a relatively low-budget game in comparison to Forza), this is a joke.

I know we're probably not going to see added cars to the fields, but we could see a few more tracks added to online multiplayer. That would be better than nothing at this point. I'm already fairly bored with the game offline...I'm sure I'll just dump it for DIRT when it comes out in a few weeks. I don't have the time or desire to play 2 racing games, even though they are pretty different. The lack of a cockpit cam also ruins it for Forza.

Speaking of tracks (or the lack there of) and how I GT's fictional courses are much better (IMO)....

Where's Rio from the original Forza?
Where's the mountain point-to-point course from Forza?
Where's the fictional course that very much resembled the actual course of (can't remember the track right now, but I'm sure PK or somebody knows what I'm talking about)?

Are these going to be future DLC?

Bathurst? That was a fictional track in Forza that was an exact match for the awe-inspiring circuit on Mount Panorama in Bathurst.

Take care,
PK

Looks like a drag racing mode will also be part of the DLC.

Has anyone tried a tournament yet? I'm curious as to how they are set up. Is it actual online racing, or competing time trials?

So I've only had the game for 3 days and I've already lost the instruction booklet...yes, my apartment is a mess.

Does anyone know why some tuning options are greyed out for my D class Audi TT? I want to mess with the gear ratios a bit but I can't. The only things I can adjust are the tire pressures. Do I have to buy some engine upgrades before I can tune the car?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure you have to buy the sports transmission...which then allows it to be adjustable.

One other thing about the online racing. A few nights ago there was lag or some connection issues.

The cars will jump around and then magically get back on the track. This cause at least two wrecks for me. I thought the guy slid off the road only to have him teleport right on my front bumper in the middle of a turn. There was nothing I could do.

Sadly had to bail mid-race as I got the call to meet the girlfriend at the train. Had a lot of fun for those three races though! I like this game a lot. Was weird that I couldn't hear anyone.
