You know whats even funnier..I would probably welcome the dumbshit.Rodster wrote:Be careful what you say 34. He could retire then come back for one more season with the Rams.
Congrats to N.O. !

Oh and I forgot...Gratz to you Saints and the kicker Hartley? I know at least 3 kickers in this years playoffs that would have missed the kick.
That PI call and the reviewed catch were pretty generous. Not sure the Saints would have gotten to FG position on their own.
Saints are going to have to crank up more offense -- without depending on officiating help -- because their defense isn't going to stop the Colts, unless the Colts give away turnovers like the Vikings did.

That was a hell of an championship game between the two best teams all season in the NFC.
The one bit of karma that pleased me was the fumble right after the roughing the passer call on the Saints. That was the NFL's version of the Jordan Rules. There's no way that would have been called roughing the passer if Joe Flacco was the quarterback instead of Brett Favre.
I'm happy for the Saints. The city of New Orleans deserves something to feel good about after Katrina. Plus the Favre vs. Manning hype -- cue John Facenda voice: "The two legends ready to clash like titans on the grandest stage of them all" -- would have been f*cking INSUFFERABLE the next two weeks.
I'm not sure who I like for the Big Bopper Bowl at this early juncture. Manning has the edge at QB, and the Colts' running game impressed me today against the Jets. I didn't think the Colts could run like that. The Saints' defense attacked often today, and I think Manning could beat it with quick slants just like he did against the Jets today.
But I think the Saints have the slight edge on defense among two defensive units that won't scare many teams. The Colts' defense was made to look good today because it was facing a rookie QB. The Saints were facing one of the best to ever play the game at QB. Plus the loss of Greene at RB in the second half really hurt the Jets' offense and made the Colts' defense look better than it is.
Should be a fine game. And hey, a Pro Bowl worth watching next Sunday because it comes before the Super Bowl! No Super Bowl team Pro Bowlers ever play in the game, anyways, and the game fills a nice void next weekend.

I really enjoyed todays games. Not because of who won as I really didnt give a s*** but or because they were the greatest games. They were just fun to watch at least for me.
Im watching NFL network and saw the Saints highlights and now I get it.
That PI call in ot on the Vikings was karma payback for the bullshit holding call on the Rams in the 76 NFC championship game. Even though I didnt benefit it does make more sense to me
The Super Bowl...
I think the Saints will give the Colts a game. Manning will be doing more of that falling down sack he did today.
Colts? 27 Saints? 24 ....Go OT!

Yup, I see the Colts doing the same thing to NO that they did to the Jets today. I predict the opening line at IND -7.5.toonarmy wrote:Vikes thoroughly dominated in offensive stats, but obviously turnovers cost them the game. The Saints' defense is not that good, so this Super Bowl should be a snoozefest with the Colts winning comfortably.

Seemed to me like all the calls were for the Vikings the entire game except the one call in OT. Why I dont get why they are dwelling on the calls in OT on the NFL network. There were plenty of calls before that one.

Yeah, he telegraphed that pass all the way while he could have easily run it for 5-10 yards. But maybe he was too conscious about his ankle. Good game, it should be a fun SB.sportdan30 wrote:Great game. Would have liked to have seen Brett run the ball instead of throwing across his body for another unforgettable interception. In the end, I'm happy for the city of New Orleans and now we get to see the two best teams fight it out for the Super Bowl.

Obviously those people don't share your sophisticated understanding of the game, but they should be regarded with some respect nonetheless.

Opening line: Colts -4.5.
I see lots of money thrown toward the Colts early this week. Look for the final line to settle around 5.5 or 6 so there's more action on the Saints, I bet. No pun intended, of course.
Haven't seen an over-under yet. I would think around 49-51, as neither defense will scare anyone.

Did the Vikings have another sex cruise, because it seemed like they had lube on their hands.
The Vikings giving the game away is the sweetest loss of all because they really should have won it. That will gnaw at them like lice in Jared Allen's mullet for the entire offseason. It's even better thinking that, if Favre does retire, it will again be after throwing a humiliating pick in the NFC championship.
Colts have the edge because of experience. Indy and New Orleans are very even in terms of talent and potential on both sides of the ball, but the Colts still have a lot of players from the Super Bowl team and that kind of veteran leadership is huge. You could see it in the comeback against the Jets -- despite being down 17-6 to the Cinderella of the playoffs, they methodically went to work shredding a vaunted defense and shutting down the Jets offense. They have played all season like a team that knows the Super Bowl is theirs to lose.
