Rumors are circulating that possibly Culpepper is being traded to St. Louis for Marc Bulger. Just heard on the radio from a football guru here in St. Louis that there are chirpings that a deal has been confirmed in Minnesota.
Don't know quite what to think of this....
EDIT: Rams front office says this is absolutely false. Forget my original message.

Javon Walker will retire and give back pro-rated portion of his signing bonus than to play for the Packers again.
He won't call out Favre for getting into his business last year other than to say players generally stick together.
He may have to play for a short-term contract at a minimum to prove he can come back from injury before some team will give him a big contract.

Hey man ..Dont play with My emotions..
I think the misconception is that Favre was taking managements side. He was taking Brett Favres side. He saw his season and career slipping away. Selfish?..yes...Do I blame him? alittle but I do understand...Dude heard the clock ticking.wco81 wrote:http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2361969

They were one of about 6 teams mentioned up here. The Linehan connection is what started the rumor, I'm sure.sportdan30 wrote:Rumors are circulating that possibly Culpepper is being traded to St. Louis for Marc Bulger. Sounds like he's going to be dealt today, though. I have no clue what to expect in return.

Rams re sign Isaac Bruce.
Just what they need an over the hill WR.
I guess the CBA was holding them up...

Not really sure why anyone would be that excited to get Culpepper. He's show that he's clearly on the way down (that was an awesome season last year) and he's probably not going to be able to play till at least mid-season this year because of his knee. I am hoping the Dolphins don't deal for him. I'd much rather have Ramsey or Brees.
I wasnt excited in a positive way. That injury was pretty bad. He probably wont be 100% right til 2007. Id rather have Bulger.dbdynsty25 wrote:Not really sure why anyone would be that excited to get Culpepper. Brees would be a whole other story.

Ha! My coworkers laughed at me when I predicted he'd go to Arizona.
They were one of the few warm-weather teams with cap room, so they had a big advantage.
Guess that means the Colts will be looking for a replacement in the draft. I'll miss Edge, he was a damn entertaining guy to follow.

It's tough to see Randle El go, but the Steelers didn't have enough cap room to sign him, their own restricted free agents, draft picks, and maybe one or two low level FA pickups. They just couldn't tie up that much money in WRs with extensions due for Troy Polamalu and Big Ben within the next couple years.
I wonder how the Redskins found all the cap room. I thought they were in worse shape than the Steelers.
edit: dayum...7 years/$31M with $11.5M in bonuses. That's a lot of coin for someone that averages a couple TD catches a year and will probably get you one return TD. He seems like a good guy though so good for him.

Lot of money for Edge.
Arizona without a running game averaged more passing yards than anyone else. But they didn't score that many points so maybe a RB makes sense in the red zone.
Then again, maybe they should be looking for a long-term QB solution.
They have a high pick in the draft so they could look for a QB or maybe improve the defense.
Maybe they wanted a big name to help sell tix at the new stadium

please. they have 3 of the same guys. reminds me when Jerry Jones traded 2 #1's for Joey Galloway and thought they would go somewhere with Aikman, Galloway, and Rocket Ismail. Snyder and the Skins are doing what they do. The man doesn't know what the draft is.dbdynsty25 wrote:Randle El to the Skins.
Man, with Santan Moss, Randle El and Brandon Lloyd...the Skins are gonna be pretty potent through the air.
And Andre Carter. . . and Fauria, and now Archuleta! Nuts.dbdynsty25 wrote:Randle El to the Skins.
That means all but the QB Collins who visited have signed. I'm surwe Collins will sign. He's been working with Al Saunders for how long? And who else but Gibbs wants an 11 year veteran career backup? I'm amazed Randall El, Carter and Archuleta all got done. Now we see the wooing power of Snyder unleashed under the direction of Gibbs and his massive coaching staff.
The cap room comes from a combination of the new CBA, releasing Arrington, and releasing about a half-dozen or so other guys like Walt Harris and Tom Tups etc., plus a low-ball tender offer to Dockery. They need help on the O-line, as Dockery has just not lived up to his physical attributes. Plus depth is nowhere near acceptable with old Ray Brown done and gone.
Otherwise, who needs draft picks?

You should have sent an email to Saban. Pasquerelli is reporting on ESPN.com that Daunte to the Dolphins for a 2nd round pick is a done deal.dbdynsty25 wrote:Not really sure why anyone would be that excited to get Culpepper. Daunte will be fine once he is healthy. He was shitty last year before the injury, but the whole team was just a mess, and you had Mike Tice prominently involved, which isn't a good thing. Don't forget that Daunte had one of the best seasons a quarterback has ever had in 2004. Watching Daunte work with Chris Chambers and Ronnie Brown will be fun as hell.
The sing-along songs'll be our scriptures.

No sh*t...dammit. That is NOT what I wanted to happen. Now they virtually HAVE to keep Frerotte since who knows if Dante will be healthy enough to play this season.Badger_Fan wrote:You should have sent an email to Saban. I can't even understand why the Skins paid that much for Archuleta, he must have had Jennifer Walcot bare her tata's for Dan Snyder. He was a decent player his first two years but went downhill when he started hanging out at the playboy mansion. All we heard the last two years is that his back was a huge problem for his decline as well as making tackles or plays yet he had no back issues when it came time to making his gal Jennifer cry in the sack during sex. Props to Archie though!Zeppo wrote:And Andre Carter. . . and Fauria, and now Archuleta! Nuts.dbdynsty25 wrote:Randle El to the Skins.

Skins spent alot for that muffler...
Randall El is a really nice 2nd or 3rd receiver...Arch is a really nice SS if you have cover corners ...but damn Thats sounds like too much money for those guys...
I do like both players...I would like to have either guy ( I will Miss Arch) but not at those salaries.
On the otherhand wtf...Go for it...Why wait til next year?

The 'skins do this every year. They spend like drunken sailors in a whorehouse during free agency, and yet when it comes to the season they can't gell enough to get into the playoffs.
Let Snyder keep throwing money around. Based on the moves they've made so far, I still don't see them as a playoff team.
I was surprised at Edge going to Arizona. Also a bit shocked that Minnesota traded Culpepper. That offense looks completely different from just 2 years ago. Still, if they end up with Hutchenson they should still be good. I also like the addition of Chester Taylor.
Now if only the Packers would get up off their $30 million and get SOMEBODY to help us!!??!!

Did you already forget about them making the playoffs last year? Apparently it works sometimes.matthewk wrote:The 'skins do this every year. They spend like drunken sailors in a whorehouse during free agency, and yet when it comes to the season they can't gell enough to get into the playoffs.
