I did not like the PC version this year and wanted to play it on my xbox. What kept me coming back to the PC version was the mods. I had my xbox chipped and worked on a datafile that would give me the best possible views in the game for pitching, batting and fielding. The game is 100% better and a little tougher on the xbox. I have not won a game yet...slump? These picture are not the best, but you can see the changes. I did not create the cams, I just took bits and pieces of what I liked.

Sure is...I'm working on another one to replace view #2. Having the xbox chipped has saved me lots of $$$ on PC upgrades. Looks like my PC will never get upgraded for games. It plays what I have now, just furture games will have to be xbox only...no PC.

What happened to the good old days of a "custom" camera?
Does that mean you won't be able to play online? We had a pretty good game of MVP last time GridIron. I still think about that walkoff 2 run HR off Gagne.

I was told that the chip could be turned off to go online. No biggie, I don't play online much, could care less if my service gets canceled. That was a great game we played...wish we had 9 innings.

I'm just now going through the process of dl'ing all the stadiums, packs etc.
Let me know if that datafile is available on the PC. thx
Boom,
I tweeked the cams for widescreen on the xbox. I tried using it on my PC and it's too squished and close. I do have the raw datafile that I started from, it's a combo of other peoples work. I took out tons of stuff I did not like in their datafiles. Let me know if you want it.

Shoot.. Front Page Sports had those years ago.

Seems they always leave the simple stuff out. Well at least I can now play it on the xbox the way I want. I'm going to convert some of the stadiums that are out for the PC over to the xbox, starting with Dodger stadium. I have a nerdy friend in the biz that is looking into converting portraits to xbox and changing the batter walk up music to something cooler sounding. I still have not been able to win a game yet on the xbox, maybe I tweeked it too much? Damn CPU batters are not swinging at crap anymore...need to tweek this, cause it feels like MVP 2003.

I am experimenting with this on the PS2 using the HD Loader and a program called WINHIIP that transfers ISOS. I noticed that the files are named the same on the PS2 and on the PC version, so logically the mods should work (as proven on the XBOX version). I have imported the mods and am at the stage of creating an ISO. Will let you all know how it works.
Update: I created two isos, one gets me a pink screen at loadup, the other a black screen. Still working on this as I would love to do what those XBOXers are doing with their mods.
I did not want to create a new thread, so I'll continue here. I have returned to the PC version of MVP, because of some great mods and sliders. I have played 10 games so far on pro using these sliders with a tweek here and there http://www.mvpmods.com/modules.php?name ... #dldetails
This has giving me some excellent games. I have had some come from behind games against the cards, braves and marlins...each game was nerve racking. I beat the Braves on a walk off HR in the bottom of the 12th and that's after being down 6-1 most of the game. This set makes the game feel real good and you can really seperate the good teams form the not so good teams. I have not won a series against any of the good teams, I have only been able to win 1 game to keep from being swept. I hope to get better as the post season nears or I may not even get past the big boys.
The fielding is excellent and pitching is tough. I give up a s*** load of balls and I really suprised that with all the balls thrown, I only walk 2-3 batters per game. I never really cared about pitch count, but I'm now getting up in the 100's and I'm loving the duels with the batters.
I have not tried these settings and datafile on the xbox because I have been so engaged in my latest run with the PC version. It's getting so bad that I'm starting to lay in bed thinking about this game and the games I have lost. Just one more game...man!
