It´s taken me a while to get my copy of this, and I am really struggling - so I hope someone can help me out with a couple of minor queries..

1. I´ve read the threads about dropped catches, but which button are you supposed to press to catch a pass...neither the manual nor the Sega v2 manual mentions this.

2. How the f*** do you switch players on defense once the ball is in play; the ´B´ key certainly doesn´t do it. I´m pig sick of the opposition ripping off big plays because I can´t switch.

I´ve got NFL2k2 and don´t remember either of these being a problem.

Hope someone can help me, or this one´s going straight back.

cheers
I´m assuming you have the Xbox version of NFL 2K3, so my answers are based on that.

Regarding switching tacklers: It´s the B button. But you really have to nail it. It´s a flaw in the programming of the Xbox version. I´ve found that the original controller works better than Controller S in this regard -- requires a lighter touch. Either way, you need to press hard. You´ll get used to it.

Regarding receivers: I can´t remember which button controls catching. I find that you´ll have fewer drops if you hit receivers on the run and run a bunch of out and slant patterns. Comeback patterns are tailor-made for drops, as the defensive back just nails your waiting receiver.

Sega has released a very, VERY good manual update online. It covers a ton of gameplay and control stuff not covered in the original manual. You can download it here. Just click on your console of choice. The file is a PDF. Highly recommended!
Cheers - I´ll give it another shot. It´s a shame, coz the first game of my Bengals franchise was a 20-17 preseason squeaker over the Falcons, which was a classic - apart from my offseason signing of Elvis Grbac breaking his arm..

While I think on, I´ve still got an MCFC v Newcastle program. Drop me an e-mail if you want it.

Now back to the Bengals live webcast..ahh, they are 21-0 down halfway through the 2nd..sigh.
