WE is good but you can get serious burnout. I know PK isn't a huge baseball fan so I don't think baseball games gets him excited.
Threadjack warning:
Is there any information on Toca Race Driver 3. I know Version 2 was release last April and I would hope that Toca 3 would be around the same time.
I don't feel MLB 2k5 has improved enough for me. Plus I could never stand 2k Sports Graphics.
MVP for $10 is a great deal
MLB 2005 from gamefly.

by far and away mlb has been my long awaited baseball game again this year
Despite the fact that I didn't think there was a single *good* baseball game out last year and that I'm playing nothing but WoW these days, I'm probably going to grab all of the baseball games because of how cheap they are this year.
The screen shots of what are no doubt MVP's 'Placebo Sliders' are actually going to get me to bite on that one as well.

This from the OS Beta Q&A
Diablo25: My question has to do with walks and pitch counts. The screens you posted the other day showed some new sliders that MAY affect pitcher control, etc. (CPU Pitch Ball Rate, Pitch Meter Difficulty, etc.) Have you seen many walks yet? Last year they were darn near nonexistent and pitch counts were way too low. Thanks.
Operation Sports: Oh yeah!! Sliders work this year. I've slapped the ball slider all the way up, just to test the sliders and while it's not an automatic walk, it's very noticable the pitcher has less control. I don't think we'll have much trouble finding the right sliders to get the realism there, since the sliders DO WORK!! Give the slider guys a few days and we'll be loving life.
Warning: Take all pre-release hype with grain o salt.

I'll be picking up MVP 2005 this week. I know my likes are pretty much the opposite of the rest of the forum, but I loved MVP last year, and I couldn't stand MLB. I don't really care about realism in a game anymore, I now judge a game based on how much fun I have playing it. I haven't touched a slider in a game in over a year now either, that has really helped me to enjoy games more and jump right into season play. If it's not fun out of the box, I'll play something else.
I am starting to take the fun road to sports gaming as well. I sold ESPN College hoops cause it started to feel like the games were too scripted (playing a tough team close for a half only to fall apart and not hit a shot in the second half) and I got March Madness. While there is a lot not to like in MM, it is fun to pick up and play. I didn't mess too much with the sliders (although I toned the speed and dunks down a lot) and made the free throws harder. But even with the Xbox stutters and mediocre graphics, it is just fun. I also like how you can sim the first half of a game and then step in and play the second half. It allows you to get in a half hour of gaming and not have to devote a full hour to play a game.
Funny, the thing that bothers me the most about MM is that you can't let the AI recruit or auto sub for you. Screw realism, I am not about to recruit all season long - it is one thing to spend 20 minutes playing around with recruiting, but to devote time to it every 'week' of the basketball season is way more involved than I want to be in that part of the game.
The thing that annoys me about EA is that in some games you can play any game involving any team in a dynasty (NCAA) select all the teams in a franchise (Madden) and then you have games like MM or MVP where you are stuck with one damn team in a dynasty/career season. Is it that hard to program multiple human controlled teams in a season?
To me, that gets boring. It is ok to manage a team and play some of their games, but I like to step out and try some different teams and ballparks. I mean, can you imagine playing 19 games against the Devil Rays? And it sucks when you either don't get in the playoffs or lose early and all you can do is sim the rest of the season. What fun is that?
That said, I am probably going to get both games this week. I even plan on giving the 'hitters eye' a little time before i turn it off, - but I will probably turn off the new pitching interface in MLB 2K5 before I load up the first game.
