Well as of now...we've got 18 teams. Is that going to be too many you think? I've got 5, including myself, from outside of DSP right now plus the following guys:
Cincy
JD
Sudz
Brando
RobV
MattK
Pigpen
SF
Danimal
Jared
JackB
JayHawker
I Like Pie
Obviously 18 teams is a lot...I think I'll have to thin out the positions and benches a bit so that it's not ridiculously tough for the non-die hard baseball fans.

If you want to get it back down to 15 teams, I can certainly drop to alternate status, so if someoen doesn't pay I can jump in last minute. Your call, but since I was one of the last to ask in, I have no problem stepping aside.

Apparently we've got a problem. You can't do an Online Draft at a decent time unless you pay for the PLUS league...which is 125 bucks. All of the times available are like 6am until 12pm Monday through Friday...which works for virtually no one. I don't know what to do now. Shall we do an offline draft? We do have more than a month until opening day.
If we do an offline draft, how is the best way to conduct it? I've never done one before so this is all new to me. Does anyone have any experience?

Man I have no clue what an offline draft is like.dbdynsty25 wrote:Apparently we've got a problem. Scott maybe we can bump the fee up to 15 bucks to cover the 125.00. That would still leave 145.00 to split between the 1st and 2nd place winners.

There are a few different sites with reputable Fantasy Baseball leagues.
CBS Sportsline is pretty good (multiple divisions within a league, which is COOL) and so are the MLB.com leagues. We can spend the 125 there, or we can spend it on Yahoo! Plus. I just went through the registration process (up until I submit payment) and they definitely give preference to those leagues when it comes to drafting.
Everyone chime in...and start sending your paypal payments. JD is right...if we do 15 bucks a piece...it'll pay for the league, and there will still be a nice bonus at the end. I'll cover all of the extra money, it's no big deal.
Send the money via paypal to dbdynsty25@yahoo.com.
Thanks guys. Also, Let me know what site you want me to set the league up at.

Scott I signed up for paypal. It will take a few days for me to varify the account. I will send you my 15 bucks as soon as that happens.dbdynsty25 wrote:There are a few different sites with reputable Fantasy Baseball leagues.

CBS Sportsline does sound cool. But if you stick with Yahoo that's fine to.

I'm leaning towards Sportsline because of the fact that we can have two divisions. That way, there can be two division champions and you can play for the title...but then again, I'm not sure how it works with roto scoring rather than head to head. I'm still looking into it...obviously, I'm going to wait until everyone's paid...then make a decision...hopefully we can all be paid up and ready to go by next Friday. I've already started a spreadsheet for everyone who's paid and hasn't so the sooner we get it done, the better.
I will pay by tomorrow night. I have to attend a class tonight and I want to look at the laegues to see which one might be the best.
It doesn't matter to me, but the league at MLB.com looks pretty good. I am signing up for the MLB TV package this year, so maybe there is some correlation between the 2 services (doubt it)

i just want to be able to be present for a live draft and would love to see us take advantage of a keeper league this time around but i dont expect it
im a big supporter of cbs sportsline i run my local fantasy football league through there for years (and the old sr league by the way) so im cool with that i think they have the best sports site on the net for quality & customizing vs excessive useless crap overall
but sporting news looks interesting
i trust your opinion on whats the best league to use db "run with it"

After looking at both sites...it seems like CBS and MLB.com (Sporting News) are fairly similar in what they offer. It looks like we'll do something other than Yahoo this time around at least. Still haven't decided...as soon as I get all of the money gathered up we'll make a decision...possibly by a poll in this forum. We'll see next week. Until then...everyone get their money in!Cincinnati_Kid wrote:im a big supporter of cbs sportsline i run my local fantasy football league through there for years (and the old sr league by the way) so im cool with that i think they have the best sports site on the net for quality & customizing vs excessive useless crap overall

I never thought I'd be able to catch him either. It's made for a very interesting finish, even the #3 & 4 spots have been breathing down our necks. We'll see what happens over the next 2 days, but I admit that SF has the advantage. I'm all out of innings for my pitchers, and I can't see many areas to add points. I'll be hoping he drops 1 or 2 while I can hopefully not lose any ground.Brando70 wrote:Hell of a final weekend in the virtual season. Just a few weeks ago I didn't think it was possible to catch the Zexpos.
It's been a great season, both in fantasy and reality

I think Sunday will be irrelevant because all my remaining IP got burned today. Whatever happens, I gotta give credit to Mattk for hanging in there, making smart moves and closing what was a big gap at one point.
The roto format with an IP limit makes it possible to catch up. As teams reach their limits, other teams with IP left to burn can leapfrog them to pick up points. That's what I did to catch Cincy Kid's team last season.

Guys great season....congrats to Mudd and SFZ, job well done.
The league is always a blast and I cannot wait till next year.
That being said, having Jack and Phog quit early, and having TMoney be virtually non-existent, this years league really could have been much much better.
Taking 66 roster sports between the three teams and spreading them out to the rest of us could have made a big difference and closed the gap between the top and bottom.
Next year, we cannot afford to have this happen again.
Please don't let this sound like sour grapes as again I have had a blast, Jack and Phog quitting early was a drag....
But I cannot comprehend this TMoney character...who the hell is he?
He has made 1 move all year, and still has many players in his line-up that are on the DL or not even playing at all.
Again, great year guys, congrats to SFZ...he is a great roto player.
See you at next years draft.
