OT: A personal message
Guys,
I apologize for my absence around here lately, as I've missed a few league games etc.
Unfortunately on Friday, my wife and I lost our 4-month old daughter, Molly Elizabeth, most likely to SIDS.
As you can imagine, this tragic event has turned our lives and the lives of our friends and family upside down. I would really appreciate you fellas keeping me and my family in your thoughts and prayers, because despite being "virtual" in nature, I do feel that I have some genuine friends around these parts. And those thoughts and prayers sure would come in handy about now.
I'm sure I'll be back talking games and playing online eventually. Maybe even sooner than you'd think, as turning toward a "mindless" diversion like videogames could be theraputic pretty soon. But for the time being, I'll be elsewhere with a heavy heart.
Bill, please replace me in the leagues and tourneys, as I obviously can't be assured of keeping those committments at this point. I apologize to Jared and anyone else who'd been trying to get a hold of me lately. I wish I could've gotten back to you sooner.
Keep a place warm for me at Poker Night, guys. I'll be back as soon as I'm able. And all of you who are parents, please kiss each of your kids goodnight one extra time tonight, ok?
Take care guys,
Rob

I'm truly sorry for what happened. I don't have kids but have lost pets and been shelled by that. That can only pale in comparison to what you and your family is going through. My deepest sympathies. It shatters my heart knowing such an innocent life was taken like that. Can't blame you one bit for skipping the gaming for now and concentrating on your wife. I imagine she's really taking it hard and she'll really appreciate it.

I am so sorry to hear this. I don't really know what to say other than I will be thinking of your family and praying for you. As a father of 2 I can imagine what you and your wife must be feeling. Take care of yourself, and stay in contact with friends and family. I know talking about games seems so trivial, but little things like this board can help you deal with things even if it's as a short diversion.
BTW, I'm at work and just about to cry myself

Lord, have mercy: Rob, I feel for you and your wife beyond words. It's almost impossible to fathom, but try to take solace that your angel is in a better place, and that you will see her again.
Constant prayers and thoughts to you both. I'm really sorry for your loss, man.
Take care,
PK
