A Twist To pk500´s "Console Question"

Post by Apexshaver »

First of all, my "console history" is as follows:
- Pong
- Intellivision
- Nintendo
- Super Nintendo
- Playstation
- PS2

My question is: What console was the most impressive to you at it´s launch? In other words, wich one was the farthest advanced from your original expectations and blew you away the most.

I love my PS2 and it is awesome, and I haven´t yet purchased an XBox, but for me it was definatly the Super Nintendo. It just caught me off-guard. I didn´t even imagine how awesome it was going to be. The first Madden, Super Golf, Super Tennis(which is still the most fun tennis game I have ever played), Mario Cart and Zelda were all awesome games. I still remember the first we poped in Madden, we were soooo blown away!

How about you?

Dreamcast, hands-down.

At 128 bits, it was a huge leap over the 32-bit system (PlayStation) that dominated the market at that point.

Plus it had online gaming, four controller ports, great launch software (Soul Calibur, NFL 2K anyone?), VMU, etc.

Great question!

Take care,

dreamcast for all the reasons pk said

and on top of that there is no reason it couldnt hang with the current systems if only the support was there

the replay value of a dreamcast library would still be unsurpassed if only games were still coming (even if those games were simply updates of what is in that library now)

that alone speaks volumes IMHO

I agree with the Dreamcast. I still have mine and it´s hooked up.

I never remember being in awe of a new system and games like NFL2k and NBA2k. I had to have one

I also agree it could still hang with the big boys if only supported.

With the help of the VGA Box and a monitor, it whips the PS2 IMHO. Well, not whips, but wins
