The voters happened to get USC right. But they missed the hell out of the #2 spot. Hell, I'd put Utah ahead of OU right now...
Sigh

Kid Auburn like I or others have and you throw a hissy fit. Yet comments like this and the Bowling Green sucks (comparing them with The Citadel) flow freely from your mouth. There may be no true BCS winner this year but you get the undisputed trophy for being the biggest forum hypocrite at DSP. No playoff is required for that one.

I don't think you can say Oklahoma is overrated because they are getting blown out in this game. I think the credit just needs to go to USC. It seems like when they want to, they can dominate anybody they play. Two years ago USC blew out a very good Iowa team in the Orange Bowl. It didn't make Iowa a worse team, it just showed that USC can play at a level nobody else can match when they want to. I doubted them two years ago, and I learned my lesson.

One thing we can all agree on though, even a playoff leading up to this championship game wouldn't have saved that halftime show.

How about not have halftime shows for anything other than the Super Bowl??

OU might be off but USC is ON. If USC gets 10 more points and puts the score in the 50s will silence all the national championship debate. Sure Auburn might be a closer game but doesn't mean they would win. 45 points in 3 quarters is still impressive against the 9th rated defense in the NCAA.

One of the ESPN guys, the old guy, said this was the biggest matchup in college football history: two Heisman winners, more All-Americans than in any other matchup, two coaches with national championships on their resumes, etc.

Both these teams deserved to be here.

But maybe these OU DBs don't get too much attention from the NFL.

Riiiiight...chewing on some sour grapes of your own, there, aren't you? Give me a break. My guys can talk about what might've been if not for the BCS baloney...yours obviously, inarguably can't. That's gotta sting. As far as my comment about #2 being FUBAR, I believe I'll stick with that one...I'm still watching the USC practice game, and have as of now 45 reasons to stick with it.

Don't spend weeks barking your garbage, and then attempt to tell me I'M the hypocrite when I get a little jab or two in of my own. I'm sorry your team is getting the piss kicked outta them, but that's not my fault. My guys may or may not have won this game tonight...I don't know, and I won't know. But I'm as sure as I can be that yours won't. The difference is, nobody can tell me we can't beat USC- everybody can say that about OU...

So play that little card of yours all you want...

The difference is, you really had no good reason to kid, outside of the desire to be a smartass...I've got an absolute asskicking going on as a factual springboard...you're "kidding" was purely speculative...mine is based purely on what I'm witnessing on the TV at this moment.

Teal,

You can speculate all you want, but can you honestly say, after this ass wooping, Auburn would beat USC? I really can't. Hell, even the Hurricanes couldn't beat USC...they are THAT good.

I had thought before the game the final score would be reversed, but USC has proven tonight there is no doubt who the National Champ is this year.

Hipe you make some good points. OU is gettng their butt kicked and nothing can change that. I just get annoyed with those who call OU overated. How does an overated team go undefeated in what might be the toughest conference in the nation. How do they go from shutting out Texas to getting blown out by USC? USC strapped them on, stopped Peterson and took advantage of OU mistakes.

As for Teal your post history can't go away to hide the fact you are a hypocrite. Sour Grapes? Nope we are getting whooped and I can admit that.

I saw this blowout coming a mile away. OU is way overated and I hope the voters dont make the same mistake next year.

No it was based on your inability to understand why USC and OU were ranked 1 & 2 preseason and Auburns OOC schedule. Last I checked there is nothing speculative about Auburn playing The Citadel, La Tech and Louisina Monroe.

They wont when they factor in OU losing most of their offense and half of their defense. Texas might just have a chance to beat OU next year. I guess you have that to look forward to.

So if we are overated then Texas is?

Not overated

If Texas played USC tonight they would get there ass handed to them too, because thier secondary is worse than OU's. Last time I checked Texas won there bowl game. OU lost 2 straight championship games that they didn't belong in.

"but can you honestly say, after this ass wooping, Auburn would beat USC? I really can't."

Nope, and I haven't said that here. What I HAVE said is that I think Auburn would've provided a better defense, and at least a little bit of offense. Whether or not they would've won is a question that will never get an answer. Whether OU would've won or not is getting answered right now, very loudly. Loudly enough for me to question their validity in the game in the first place.

"Last I checked there is nothing speculative about Auburn playing The Citadel, La Tech and Louisina Monroe. "

There is nothing speculative about this monumental ass whipping that USC is dishing out, that's for sure. There's nothing speculative about saying that OU should'nt be in the same stadium as USC. I WILL, however, speculate that the suits in the BCS are regretting their decision right about now.

"As for Teal your post history can't go away to hide the fact you are a hypocrite. Sour Grapes? Nope we are getting whooped and I can admit that."

Well...you sure as hell can't deny it...so whaddya want? A pat on the back for being man enough to admit what the whole damn country knows already?

You know what that "hypocrite" bull sounds like? One of those "Oh Yeah?! Well, um...You're ugly and your mother dresses you funny" pathetic little comebacks when you really have nothing to say. It's funny, really, and kind of entertaining, come to think of it...

This game is a joke. I don't think OU is underated, but they sure are not prepared, for the second year in a row. There needs to be some changes in the staff and they are obviously not as talented in the secondary, as they thought. I have to ask myself is enough to at least be in the championship game. Now I know how Florida St fans and Nebraska fans fell.

I agree with Bayou...

It seems like Stoops doesn't have his guys ready to play. I'm not sure if they just don't have the talent that USC has or if the Carroll is really that much better of a coach. To be determined I guess...but this is the 2nd year in a row that Stoops has gotten outcoached all over the field in the championship game. Just start calling him Marv Levy I guess.

i dunno if its all on the coach, i think it all comes down to players in the end.. even if ou lost 100-0 they still made it to the championship game and hundreds of other schools are at home watching

I will say this, and leave it at that: At very least, Auburn had as much business in this game against USC as OU did. For the record, I think they had much more business in there, but oh well.

OU was absolutely abismal. USC was magnificent. USC proved themselves, OU disproved themselves. Auburn proved themselves, Utah proved themselves. The BCS is the most brain deficient entity in all of sport, and that was also proved tonight, as well as last night. Not to mention a week ago after Utah's game.

I love college football. I hate the BCS, hate voting, hate polls. Politicians should be voted on-college football teams should not. After tonight, I see no reason to need any more proof of that.

Talent is not to be judged at random...it is to be shown and proven in the arena...

whew...I hope the Super Bowl is better than this...

Well I thought OU was the best team in the country and would win this game. HAppy to say I was wrong.

There is no doubt in my mind, USC is the best team in the country. They are on a different level from everyone else.

Wait a minute..didn't USC play VaTech earlier this year and needed a fluke pass interference call late in the game to pull it out?
