OT: English Bulldog

Post by FloridaGators »

Anybody ever own one of these dogs? I'm sort of interested in a few years, when I go on my own of buying an English Bulldog.

Comments on what type of dog they are?

mike whats up man ?

i say get a cat... much cleaner and more fun, and girls like them better too, plus i think it's unfair to keep anything more than a cat-sized dog in an apartment all day.. i assume you're gonna get an apartment i doubt you can afford a house, and think how pissed a dog would be if you left it in a kennel at home all day, plus then you have to worry about if its out if it is destroying the house.,,, not to mention dogs are dumb, ugly, smell like s***, and are expensive =)

i say first get a girl, then get a nice car and spend your money putting mods into it... a car is way more fun than any pet could ever be, trust me when i say this :)

better yet....save a life and adopt a dog from a local shelter. It's so sad how many dogs are destroyed because they cant find homes for them. You can probably find a good purebred at a shelter too.

First time ever I can reply to one of Fletch's posts with these three words: I agree completely. :)

I don't want to get pulled into one of my "rid the world of canines" tirades. It's Christmas, and I don't want to drag down people who dig dogs.

I'm not one of them. :) 'Nuff said!

Take care,

Haha, this is just for talk down the line, after I graduate college and can get an apartment, which is like 3 years from now, most likely. Thanks for the feedback.

Keep in mind that bulldogs hate gators a lot more than they hate tigers!

I have two of them, one is 2 1/2 and the other is nine months. The older one is an amazing dog; hilarious, loyal, playful and friendly. I will reserve judgment on the 9 month old since he is still a puppy. Just trying to get him to quit humping everything that moves.

Most bulldogs are very docile and lazy. I actually have to wake them up in the mornings and drag them outside, instead of the other way around. They snore very loudly and drop farts that could make a proctologist gag, but, sadly, you get used to both. I actually have a hard time sleeping when I'm away from home without the chorus of snores in the background.

Biggest drawbacks are that they are expensive both to buy and to keep healthy. They also can't regulate their body temperature very well, so they are ultra-sensitive to both hot and cold weather.

Here's a couple pictures:
