Boys:
 
 The more I think about it, the more this is a watershed three weeks in Xbox history. Probably the biggest such span since launch.
 
 Just think about the superb games we´ve already got this week:
 
 Amped 2
 Rainbow Six 3
 Top Spin
 
 And coming up in the next three weeks we have:
 
 GTA Double Pack (I know, PS2ers are laughing.)
 Links 2004
 Project Gotham 2
 NBA Inside Drive 2004
 Counter-Strike
 Sega GT Online
 
 Seriously, this is a great time to own an Xbox and Xbox Live. Nothing against the PS2, as it´s a fine, fine system. But I´m really glad these next three weeks that I switched to the Xbox.
 
 This truly is the month that the Xbox and XBL are moving from walking to running. The big black box is really hitting its stride.
 
 Go ahead, call me an Xbox fanboy. No worries, because with the kind of quality online games that are coming out now for the Xbox, I AM an Xbox fanboy.

This time of year is always crazy with game releases, but I agree with you, Xbox is pouring it on right now.
 
 I´ve been trading games in like crazy, and the TRU deal was a godsend.

Yeah, but the one problem I have is lack of funds. I keep hearing about all these great games and I really only have a budget of one a month. <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_frown.gif"> Due to my fascination with all things Clancy I picked up RS3 so Top Spin and Amped 2 will have to wait. And of course next month I´m going to have to choose between those two and all of the new stuff coming out. I´m pretty sure Project Gotham 2 is gonna win that fight. Maybe I could sell a few non-vital organs on the black market. <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_biggrin.gif">

 I went from having zero Live compatible games last month to 5.
 
 ESPN NHL
 ESPN NFL
 ESPN NBA
 Top Spin
 Amped 2
 
 I´m heading over to TRU to see what they´ve got left but hopefully I´ll be able to pick up Crimson Skies and a few others. We´ll see.

If you don´t mind a PS2´er sneaking into this X-Box thread...
 
 I can´t get over the general quality and quantity of good games coming out across ALL platforms in the last 2-3 months.
 
 At first I thought it was just a function of my ever-diminishing free time which made it seem that I just couldn´t keep up. That´s true, of course, but I´ve never in all my many (many, many) years of gaming seen such a huge library of quality titles available for so many excellent platforms.
 
 I game on PS2, GC and PC, and I can´t imagine keeping up with the stuff that´s been released for them. The amazing X-Box titles which I´m missing through my own obstinance and skewed sense of fiscal responsibility just make things more overwhelming.
 
 It appears that real droughts in this hobby may be a thing of the past. The combination of more great games, deeper games and improved online multi-player means that there is virtually no way to ever be lacking for quality entertainment.
 
 My excitement is tempered only by the ennui I feel as a result of the fact that I lack the time to savor all of the gaming goodness.

 I had already traded most of my old stuff I didn´t play for the games I currently have. Just this week I´ve traded off the last I could spare to get Crimson Skies and Rainbow Six 3. I do have some PC stuff I might try to sell on e-bay but that´s about it. But if all else fails I´ll just put everything else on my X-mas list. Luckily my friends and family have no problem giving me games as gifts. <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_biggrin.gif">

 Seriously, our little hobby is reaching critical mass. The amount of money being sunk into development of quality titles on all platforms these days is staggering.
 
 Video gaming is no longer little sprite characters running across a screen, played by kids or geek adults. It´s a f*cking phenomenon, and I´m going to enjoy the ride, man!

PK...I was exactly that person.
 
 Until I found out that Amped and Top Spin were so badass online and ESPN NBA was pretty sweet as well. I was just lukewarm on Live until this past week...now I am falling back in love with it. It helps when new and exciting games come out for it. With Live and Gotham 2 on the horizon, it´s not gonna slow down anytime soon.

 That is an understatement PK. I just read a story in our local paper that the video game industry is making more money than the movie industry. It looks like out hobby is still growing and there is no sign of it slowing down.
