PS2 no more????

I am seriously thinking of selling off my PS2, games, and accessories.
 
 I have many more game than time, and with PGA renewing my intrest in PC games I really have more than I can deal with.
 
 The only things keeping the PS2 around are the games I use with my wheel (NFS, WOO), and games that I can´t play anywhere else (HCTP, Riding Spirts, Summer Heat volleyball).
 
 If I do sell, I would keep the wheel for my PC, and maybe use the proceeds to help pay for a new PC. We´ve got an old 450mhz that is at least 5 years old now.
 
 I´m hoping to get $100 for the PS2, 25 for the 2 memory cards combined, maybe $20 for the Sharkport, and about $5-$10 a game. Most of my PS2 games are a bit old, like Spider-man, Swing Away Golf, WTS 2002, MX2002, etc...

Cinci - Take a look at my post (yes, I actually posted at SR) about Smackdown. I have issues. That game is really the tipping point of whether or not the PS2 stays or goes.
 
 PK - Simplicity is one of things I´m looking for. Not just in my gaming, but life in general. I´ve found that I´m much happier when my life is kept simple, and I can give more time to less "stuff". Hence, I sold my PDA, and will not carry a cell phone. I may have some initial sadness about losing games like Riding Spirits, but like you and WOO, I´ll get over it <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_wink.gif">

yes matthew im seeing the same thing with off the top rope stuff and weapons
 
 it took me several games to really notice it as i was kinda caught up in the moment ....
 
 now my dilema as compared to yours
 
 my thing is with out a ps2 i will have no way to enjoy any type of online play until at best 2004..... but at the same time nfl 2k4 just isnt the same experience on ps2 with all the slowdown....ncaa league is a blast but i really dont play EA as a single gamer much prefer 2k4......online madden is fun but not in the same league as 2k4 when there isnt lag...and i am not finding any of the other games that compelling online ps2...this or i tend to have a hard time finding a "Good-non cheese" random opponent where as on Live i could find someone at the press of the big grey button on the front of my xbox....not too mention advantage of the gamertag list.....i already miss my hotley contested games with seanmac & others in 2k4 etc
 
 i would greatly miss WE6 but with out an xbox i may never get to play the High Heat/Inside Pitch hybyrd......and with a lack of baseball games knocking me out this past year...High Heat graphical facelift / online potential has me holding my breath...advantage X
 
 gameday vs fever call me crazy but i do sort of enjoy gameday this year...and dont find fever nearly as compelling it also for me is a nice bookend to 2k4 for a quicker more basic brand of football without being ea football......advantage ps2
 
 basketball...im enjoying the heck out of nba live right now and i can take it online.....not that excited for shootout , feel i already know what to expect with espn.....but truley im most anticipating Inside Drive one of my favorite games of 2003....no online will kill me here lacking broadband currently however this game was a blast as a single player.....advantage X
 
 wrestling.....smackdown beats raw 2 however rumours are NWA TNA will get the Def Jam engine and if so it will be all platforms.....so the wait may prove to be more than worth it...advantage.....PUSH
 
 non sports games....well all that matters to me in this area offline is HALO in my book....other than that i enjoyed trying out games on xbox live that i would never play if i wasnt online examples ghost recon,midnight madness,castle wolfenstein ...advantage......X
 
 my sons games......well he loves Halo above all else now......he wants prince of persia and lords of the ring return of the king and NFL Street......besides Halo there all on both....so advantage .....X
 
 selling off one system , games , memory cards, etc will pay for our new games with out taxing our current strict budget......advantage..........bank acount
 
 other sports....... links ..just waiting for feedback as this area is wide open tiger is on both systems if links doesnt standout....blitz if its good is on both systems fifa if good is on both systems....as much as i would like to think fifa online would be that one compelling online ps2 game....its a bit of a long shot...and that brings us too top spin....as im hoping this isnt just a Inside Pitch type of game Great online but lacking off...as this could be the kind of game that helps make my decision easier if it has Inside Drive like single player fun.........advantage ....push for now

 Fomr what you listed it´s a tough choice. I haven´t even been online yet, so it´s not a factor. For you it really adds a lot to the equation. I know all about bugetary concerns though <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_eek.gif">
 
 I know I´m keeping the Xbox no matter what. I´m no graphics whore, but PS2 games are hard to take on the eyes with all the jaggies. After playing a game on the xbox it´s real noticeable.

 I am very close to selling both my PS2 and Xbox. NCAA 2004 and to a lessor extent WE6:I are the games currently keeping me from selling my PS2, and Moto GP2 is the game keeping me from selling my Xbox. There are a lot of cool games for both systems on the horizon, but I am just finding more and more enjoyment out of my PC games lately.
 
 I say, sell what you can and upgrade your PC. You can use the Logitech wheel and pickup EA´s F1C for $19.99 or less. There are some great mods on the way. Plus you can get WOO for PC with online play and better graphics, not to mention NR 2003 with Busch, Truck, and Trans-Am mods. For less than $60.00 worth of software you would have a multitude of racing games, series, tracks, etc. Oh yeah, and TW 2004, Half-Life 2, Warcraft III, ........Ok, I will stop being the PC gaming pimp.

Oh yeah, I plan on using the Logitech on the PC.
 
 WOO is on the PC? I didn´t even know.
 
 I already have Nascar Heat for the PC. I love the handling and graphics even though it´s a few years old. With the downlaods I can get the current seasons cars and drivers.
 
 I also have HFS_HP (the first one). This and Heat should look even better with a faster PC. When I get a new PC, I´ll have to check for cheap racing games <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_biggrin.gif">
 
 The only thing saving my PS2 right now is Smackdown:HCTP. If it doesn´t hold up over the next couple of days, the PS2 is gone!
