SSX3 impressions

WOW !
 
 I just go to the 2nd peak and it just makes this already great game about 10 times better. There is really a lot more to this game than just racing. Tons of stuff to do actually. Challenges, pipes, collectibles, ect...
 
 The presentation is absolutely top notch (and then some). The graphics are just drop dead gorgeous.
 
 The control is unmatched and the sense of speed is incredible. The open mountain idea works great. Tons of freedom.
 
 The tracks are by far the best in the series and there are quite a few of them. Very long and totally original and diverse !!!
 
 Needless to say, I am very impressed and happy with this game. It just keeps getting better and better. The 2nd peak is just incredible. I cannot wait to get to the 3rd.
 
 This is perhaps the best single player arcade trick/race game of the year (is that even a category ?)...
 
 I highly recommend checking it out and if you were a fan of the others in the series, go ahead and buy it. Immediately !!!

Which version did you get? I´m leaning towards the PS2 version (because the controls will be the ones I´m most familiar with) but I´m wondering if there´s any compelling reason (graphics, extras, etc.) to either grab the XBox or Gamecube version instead.

Xbox, 480p...it´s absolutely breathtaking. One of the best looking games I´ve EVER seen.

´supposedly´ the X-Box looks the best (but they are all close). And the X-Box controls are more than acceptable. I was worried about that but after two runs, they were like buttah ! No qualms at all here.

How is it compared to Amped? Is it more "over the top" compared to Amped?
 
 I really like the freedom you had in Amped. About the only thing I didn´t like in Amped was the fact that two people couldn´t go at the same time.
 
 I see the game is getting rave reviews, but I haven´t been a fan of the EA Big games.

 It´s VERY similar to Amped...it just looks better and controls a bit better as well.

Another WOW !
 
 This game is DEEP !!!! I mean really deep. I didn´t realize the amount of stuff you can do in the Lodge. This is where you buy accessories, attributes, ect... But you can also buy tricks. You can buy and the choose your Uber tricks and there a a ton of them to choose from. Too cool. This game has it all. And the increase in difficulty is done extremely well.
 
 I might be over-panicking here, but I really and truly think that ANY video game enthusiast owes it to themselves to try this game. It is video gaming at it´s finest and it should be acknowledged. <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_smile.gif">

This is my GOTY so far. First game that has kept my attention single player like this. I mean... online is good and all, but I continuously want to play single player.
 
 The final race on Peak 3 (time to beat of 30 minutes) is friggin amazing!
