PK, what´s happening? I was away on vacation for the last week and a half. I went home to NY, visited ground zero etc..sad stuff, man. At any rate I noticed that you and JD returned home to SR, good, I am glad. Now, yesterday I finally won a game with the Jets. I played the Dolphins. I shut Ricky Williams´ punk ass down boy!!!! Well, not really, he had 88 yards on 30 carries. Here´s the secret I found to tackling the good backs. I ran strictly 4-3 defenses. Why, because the defense attacks the runner in waves. If you run a bear or goaline, once the runner breaks the initial line he is gone, there is no wave. I kept constantly bashing Ricky in the backfield, or gang tackling. One more thing I have learned, that if you press and hold the X button instead of tapping it brings the man down better. This game is off of the hook!!

Funny...in Madden, I´ve found the best strategy to be running (mostly) the dime. It might be because I play with Miami (great corners). Control a safety playing the deep zone and bring him up on the run, and you´ve got a solid defense. (Although I just got trounced by San Diego in my season....48-20. Man....Drew Brees was running the offense well, and Tomlinson broke a few big ones.)

Yeah, Nova, I´m with you, man.

Sometimes I try to get too tricky with defenses in NFL 2K3 and end up screwing myself. I find that I stay in a 4-3 variation on my first and second downs and drop into a nickel or dime on third if it´s a third-and-long.

Now I get tricky within schemes by calling audibles or shifting the line, etc.
Take care,

This game is amazing. I started a franchise with the Colts and simmed a couple seasons to mess with the draft/free agent/ contract stuff. I decided to start playing my games on third season. I didn´t make the playoffs the first two years, but I´ve started 4-0 this year. The salary cap really hits home. I decided the Edge had to go, but improved my team greatly in other areas with the trade. I´m playing on pro. How about you guys?

I play on Pro default settings. I honestly don´t believe in messing with the settings unless it is going to make the game harder for me. Right now, it is hard enough! I am using the Jets, I am currently 1-3. I have no problem stopping the "big backs" like I said before 4-3 defense with line shifts to the strong (tight end) side of the offensive line works very well. This game plays a really great simulation of NFL football strategy. I have come to learn that I have to implement better play calling. I am really trying to make the playoffs 12 games to go. Also, I have no problems with dropped passes either, I fire the passes in, no lobs, it also depends on who you are throwing the ball to. All of the posts i am seeing concerning hard backs to bring down and dropped balls, I am just not having. This game is a blast for me

The only problem I have with the dropped balls are the times when the guy has held the ball long enough to be considered a completion and they say no. These should be called fumbles and would help in that area since I think I´ve only seen one fumble total. Still, it´s the same for both sides, it´s not that big of deal.

[ This message was edited by: JOZ on 15-09-2002 03:24 ]
