Who will be the best player in college basketball?
I'm going to try and get in the spirit of college b-ball this year. That's kinda hard for me, but oh well...
So who do you think the best player will be? Any darkhorses?

Julius Hodge of N.C. State is a player, too. Kind of hard to leave the reigning ACC Player of the Year off any list of top returning college hoop players in the country.
They play some decent ball in the ACC. Not as good as the Big East, but decent.
Out,
PK

ACC is by far the best conference in college basketball here. I think the 6th best team in the ACC can play with the 2nd best team in any other conference. They are that strong.
My All American list,
Ike Diogu, Arizona State (had a down year last year but he's been double and triple teamed since his freshman year)
Ryan Gomes, Providence (proved last night against Niagara that he can take over any game he plays, even if it Niagara, will be a constant 20+, 10+ board guy all year)
Wayne Simien, Kansas (can do it all, good leader, the best player on probably the nation's best team)
Rashad McCants, UNC (tremendous shooter, has all the skills, could have an awful year if he continues to be a headcase)
Chris Paul, Wake Forest (great passer, good defender, great work ethic, most people's pick for player of the year)

I also find it odd that no one mentions Hodge yet mentions other ACC guys. What, did the Player of the Year in the ACC last year get worse over the summer?

Hodge is without question the best player in the ACC. Paul of Wake Forrest is the best PG with Sheldon Williams of Duke being the best post player. The McCants and May pub is just the UNC PR machine working overtime. McCants aka McCancer is a talented offensive player but as one mentioned is a headcase deluxe. He often aleinates his teamates and sticks his foot in his mouth when talking to the media. In an interview a couple weeks ago he compared being an athlete at UNC to being in prison. May had a fine summer and has lost a few pounds but his stamina is still a huge question mark. Oftentimes last season he'd play like a hoss the first 20 minutes and tucker out and be his opponents b*tch the next 20. Miami and Va Tech is walking into a hornet's nest. Imagine a typical week being:
Wed. game vs. Duke
Sat. game vs UNC
Wed vs Wake Forrest
Sat vs. Ga Tech
Ouch

Gotta go with Chris Paul I run into him alot in the mall (Hanes Mall for those of you here in Winston) He is a nice guy plus I work with his aunt and uncle. But make no mistake, the Big East is the best conference in College Basketball. We play rough and tough, that is why we have produced the last two national champions. Until the ACC actually does something, the Beasts from the East rule the court. And I don't want to even discuss next year.

The ACC might have a beef this year, a small beef, but the last two national champs have come from the Big East.
And next year, when Cincinnati, Louisville, Marquette and DePaul join the Big East, it will be the best hoops conference in the country, lights out.
Take care,
