Madden 2005 friends list observation

I've noticed something lately that I haven't seen before. I've never received an invite from a friend while playing a different game before until recently.

I always thought that while playing EA Sports games the friendslist was pretty much internal to EA Sports.

It's always worked for me. The friends list has been sketchy, but when it was up and populated, I could always receive and send invites to others in different games across all publishers.
