Inaugural Halo 2 Poker Night tonight
Boys:
I have no idea how many players my connection will support, but I'm more than willing to play host to the maiden Halo 2 Poker Night at 10 p.m. (EST) tonight. I'm picking up the game today at lunch.
Reply if interested!
Take care,
PK

I'm in. I think this game is supposed automtically shift the hosting to the best connection, if I'm not mistaken. So whoever sets up the game is not necessarily the host, right?
It's amazing this game, you can set up all kinds of multiplayer game variants, messing with different settings, from number of spawns to weapons available, to who knows what, and save them nice and easy. I mean you can probably have hundreds of different little variants for, say, king of the hill, or CTF, or whatever game mode, all saved on your machine and ready to go. I got lost in there checking out the settings you can change.

Great response, fellas, although I'm not surprised! Can this game support 16 players online? Even more important, can anyone's connection support that much?
Maybe we should split into two rooms. Just a thought. Or James_E, you can host because we know your connection is a beast.
Take care,
PK

Let's take a look at the ol' manual:Sudz wrote:what online modes are there?
- Slayer (deathmatch, team or regular)
Capture the flag
Assault (get a bomb INTO the enemy's base)
King of the Hill
Oddball (like briefcase in Goldeneye)
Juggernaut (one guy is powered up, he is the only one who can score, kill him and you become him)
Territories (multiple check-points around the map to capture)
OK let's try this again; the game will choose as host whoever has the best ability to host.pk500 wrote: Or James_E, you can host because we know your connection is a beast.

Whoever sets up the room is not necessarily the host. So you can set up the game PK, throw out the invites, set the settings (there are TONS of options), and if Jamie or Web join, the game will automatically shift to that person to host the match. And I think whoever is actually hosting, you should still have control over the game settings etc. I can't say i understand it 100%, but I think the whole point is we don't need to worry about who will host.
