Tonights episode was not as riveting as the rest of them so far.

But I have to say they did do one thing I never saw coming. Tonight just felt like a setup of things to come. Big Lord of the Flies feel to it.

Some of them are resigning themselves to staying on the island indefinitely.

Others are holding out hope of an imminent rescue.

Two camps now. Guess the background of the Korean couple was suppose to mirror this alienation.

Another good episode IMO. Next week looks to be pretty damn good. Anyone else notice the "beast" hasn't been around for a while? Not a big deal but it has sort of moved to the back burner. Can't wait for next week.

Another good "table-setting" episode. By the looks of the preview for next week, it looks like the show is going to spring to action.

Not sure if that's a good thing, to spring into hyperdrive plot propulsion after a few weeks of character development. Yeah, you can't develop character forever, but is it going to be too jarring, too contrived with all the action next week?

Either way, I can't wait. Really digging this show.

P.S.: Locke is a fascinating character. Probably my favorite on the show.

Take care,
PK

There are still some other main characters whose backstories haven't been told yet -- Sawyer, the brother and sister, Charlie (well they showed him getting high on the plane just before it went down).

I think the way they are providing the backstories of the characters is nothing short of masterful. They said so much about the Asian couple last night with just a few insightful flashbacks. And once again, a couple of good twists. I haven't been this sucked in since the second season of 24.

Agreed. The Asian couple was one of the biggest mysteries to me of a show filled with mysteries.

Last night explained a TON. I just hope these flashbacks and character development continue and that we don't kick into hyperdrive action and plot propulsion.

Yeah, I want the show to move along, but I don't want something like: "OK, flashbacks are done. Let's put this show in gear like an action film."

I agree with Brando that the pacing and structure of this show, with the flashbacks, are brilliant. Damn, I haven't dug a major network drama like this since the first season of "The West Wing." I can only think of three network shows, period, that have gripped me this much in the last 15 years, period -- "Twin Peaks," "Homicide: Life on the Streets," and "The West Wing."

Take care,
PK

i couldn't get into lost last night....doesn't seem like a show where you can just step in after many episodes. Seemed dull to me. But i enjoy cheese TV, like the Bachelor afterwards. That show is like a trainwreck in motion. The dialogue is so cheesy it makes you cringe.

For sure, you're pretty f*cked if you haven't followed "Lost" from the beginning or near the beginning. It's just not that accessible for newbies unless they're very patient.

P.S.: My lust for Evangeline Lilly (Kate) grows by the episode ... :)

Out,
