New PSTwo Memory Card Concern?

I have been reading at the playstation forums that for the new Smaller PSTwo, that you have to buy new smaller memory cards since the 'old' ones for the regular PS2 don't fit into the slots.

This does not sound right but anyone with a new PSTwo confirm that the Regular PS2 memory cards work?

I have the new PSTwo and my memory cards work fine. I have heard the multitap will not fit in the new controller slots.

Roomate bought one but kept the old one for games that require the HD.

PS2 memory cards work just fine. Unfortuantely the multi-tap does not work on it due to the slight redesign of the controller port. Have no clue what Sony was thinking other then trying to get people to buy more new goodies for it.
