Thanks for the heads up. CH 2K5 is my next and final purchase of the year. ESPN NBA simply tides me over until the college game shows up.

Please let there be less fadeaways and and leaners in this years edition.

CH 2K4 was the last game I played on my PS2, had a blast creating my DIII school and inserting them into C*USA. This is one of the few games the rest of the year that really interests me.

I share your sentiments bdoughty--I hated it when my center would pull some junk *ss fade-away shot when they had a clean opening to take it strong to the hole.

Thanks for the head's up, lnin, but let me guess how this will work: IGN will say College Hoops 2K5 has "great promise" and that they'll "keep an eye out for this one" in the preview.

And when the game is released, it will end up having "flaws and glitches" and receive a lower score than March Madness, an EA Sports title.

Take it to the bank, brother.

Take care,

Is March Madness even going to be released this year? I haven't heard a thing about it yet.

Hilary Goldstein has said that it is THE best basketball game this year...by far. His words...take it for what its worth.

That and 50 cents will buy you a cup of coffee at Dunkin' Donuts. Industry-inhaling Goldstein has about as much credibility as Jayson Blair.

While I do enjoy the controls changes this year, with games having a proper flow based on the way teams play, my favorite alteration is the ingenious change to freethrows. Let's face it, the old way of shooting freethrows in previous versions of Sega hoops games was, well, total crap. Just plain terrible and it seemed each year actually got worse and worse. Finally there's a solution. Forget meters or adjusting triggers or using thumbsticks or any of it. College Hoops 2K5 gets rid of all those things. Instead of a timing meter, you hold down the shoot button and watch as your player goes into his shooting motion. You then must release the shoot button when it feels like the right time for release.
Thank you. I hate that Free Throw Trigger crap which I turned off in ESPN NBA 2K5.

From the videos it looks good so far and glad to see they utilized the NBA 2K5 engine for graphics. The new controls like a button for the lead pass is nice, though I hate not having the L-Trigger for post up. Of course using the L-Trigger as a shift button will be a good addition after getting used to it. Not a big Legacy/Dynasty player but they have definately added alot in that area.

Yep, right around the same time ESPN College Hoops comes out. Going to leave this one as a rental since I have always enjoyed ESPN College games more then March Madness. Gamespot had some screens of the game at E3 and a hands on.

The vids I watched of College Hoops didn't really impress me. Looked like there would be way too many dunks. Obviously this can be tweaked with sliders but that did turn me off.
