Remember, boys: The good-time Red Sox paupers are having more fun in losing than the dour Yankees' millionaires are in winning, so the Red Sox are the real victors.
Maybe the proper spot for the "feel-good" Red Sox is the World Series -- the Little League World Series in Williamsport, where participation is just as important as winning.

Take care,
PK

A quote from Pedro: "The Yankees are my daddy." And the stat line says that the Sox are actually 6-17 against the Yanks in Pedro's last 23 starts against them.
What was Francona thinking? Was he not paying attention last October?

Or where immigrant teenagers pretend like they are 12 and under? Sound familiar? I wonder how old El Ducky and Contreras really are...pk500 wrote:Maybe the proper spot for the "feel-good" Red Sox is the World Series -- the Little League World Series in Williamsport, where participation is just as important as winning.

Big difference -- El Ducky and Contreras are professionals paid with Steinbrenner's endless bags of money while Manny and Pedro are amateurs playing solely for the love of the game.Parker wrote:Or where immigrant teenagers pretend like they are 12 and under? Yes, but he was with them long enough and they paid quite enough for him.
Tonight the major problem with the Yanks was exposed. Bullpen depth. You are in serious trouble if your starter can't go 6 or 7. Quantrill is very hittable this year which leaves only Gordon and Rivera. Everyone else is downright awful. The Sox may not have more than a few dominant relievers, but they have far more solid experienced relievers than the Yanks to round out the bullpen.
We have won the season series. We still will win the division. And you won't be clinching the division at Fenway tomorrow even if Kevin Abbott can somehow beat Schilling.
Wakefield still owns the Yanks.

Goddam
Will you please shut the f up with your POSTS .You are setting yourself up for some punishment if your sox dont make it to the world series AGAIN.So you won,the Yanks can still beat Pedro. You are still in the same position as you were before Friday. Your posts are getting really annoying.
Talk all you want when and IF you beat the Yankees in the postseason.
ENOUGH ALREADY>WE GET YOUR POINT YOU HAVE A HARD ON FOR YOUR SOX.NOW GO JACK THAT HARD ON AND SEE IF IT TAKES YOU TO A WORLD SERIES VICTORY.

Typical Yankee response.
It's sad with Steinbrenner's resources there is such a glaring problem with the Yanks.
Instead of trying to point out a similiar flaw in the Red Sox, you keep going back to the fact that we haven't won since 1918. If you think BS curses factor more than the players on the field each year, then that's your poor choice. The problem is you can't point out an obvious weakness in Boston. We may not have the best pitching, or the best pitching, or even the best manager, but when you add it all up, we are extremely balanced and deep. Our only main issue was with the defense, and that was addressed at the trade deadline.

Will concur with high heat..won't get into sox yankee debate..it is so over hyped...Yanks had a nice dynasty in late 90's but have won nothing in this decade...might as well be braves. Anyway..High Heat is best game..if you can find mods and all..I think the pc community will last for a long time with the game.

I remember that game. Yeah, it did suck. In the franchise mode you were given unlimited "points" so you could just buy a championship. You could try to play on the more difficult "Buckner" level, but the game kept crashing in September or October of each season.Jimmydeicide wrote:And ive never heard the game Yankees redsox, was that on Coleco vision? sounds realy bad, glad i missed it.
When you speak of the Red Sox you say"we" and "us" a lot. Do you work in the front office? Are you a player or manager? If so hook me up with some ticketsParker wrote:Pedro can say whatever he wants as long as we collective beat the Yanks in a series. This Yankee team has not shown that they can this season, I don't think they will magically dominate us once the playoffs begin.

Thats funny leebo and these guys just ignore it and carry on.

Hope i can get my question answered so i dont have to herer the Ea sega debate no more.
Can you believe Jose Guillen being suspended for the rest of the year by the Angels including the postseason? I always knew the guy had a screw loose, but he had to have done something incredibly bad for them to willingly lose him with all of their injury problems. Guerrero looks like a lame duck with his injury.
If Boston has to face the Twins, I'd much rather NY face Anaheim even with their problems. Anaheim matches up better with either NY or Boston than Oakland does.

I have actually been enjoying MVP for the Xbox this year. There are some issues but it does the job for me. I really like the pitching as I have turned off all of the aids and have some good sliders going. Sure, I don't walk many people, but that doesn't bother me too much.
Well, I am into Sept. in my league playing as the Reds (play about 2/3s of the games) and I am leading the wild card (insert realism comments here). Last night I pitched my first ever no-hit game on a baseball video game and it was a good feeling. Aaron Harang (more realism comments) pitched a perfect game as I beat the Brewers 3-0.
My son came into the room in the 8th inning and I was sure he was going to say something and jinx it.
He seemed not to notice, then when I got the last out the announcer stated the accomplishment. My son was pretty immpressed at what his old man could still do on a video game.
